Wouldn't minimalist rules of engagement be relatively easier to understand and follow?
I don't think deterrence really works, more likely to draw heat if anything. Does make sense that they might make face-saving moves once Iran depletes the stock more (from what I'm guessing, after they unload on Israel and on US bases after interceptor stock is more depleted).
But anyway my first thought with two countries was Israel and UAE - or at least UAE *wanted* the war, might be recalculating I really donβt know.
Whatβs the gain for them to actively participate if US and Israel will use their resources instead (and direct involvement is risky on both foreign and domestic fronts)? Both Trump and Netanyahu are all in and politically committed to doing this openly.
Yeah the scientists actually won that one already

Iβm about to give a talk saying we need to feel that friction and push back against it. We canβt try and paper over it. We need to state to the admin unequivocally when their constraints donβt serve deeper learning.

I feel the same way about employees who talk like managers. Itβs their job to devalue your labor, not your job!
Yeah people internalizing the business talk of businesses they donβt work in gets to me. Media, movies, sports, politics. Itβs a plague on our minds.

While the bombs fall on the regime and its opponents alike, Trump and Netanyahu say that they come as liberators. Only they won't be the ones who do the dirty work. Encouraging the IRGC to sit on its hands and receive 'immunity' is the latest tell that the Iranian people's desires are irrelevant.

Or MESHSH? Doesnβt work either way. Itβs like when people sub in Cyrillic for similar-looking Romanic letters but they make completely different sounds.
βHe would of been a good man,β the Misfit said, βif it had been a crowd to threaten to hang him every minute of his life
(Note to the mods, it is not a threat of violence, it is a reference to a Flannery OβConnor story concerning someone who finds decency only under mortal terror.)
He doesn't like people who beat him, embarrassing and impossible to co-sign, but he likes winners in general. Helps also that Mamdani beat Cuomo, who is more in Trump's world.
Nope. State-level punishment is wrong on so many levels. Moral: throwing vulnerable people under the bus. Political: you harden voters against you. Strategic: youβre outgunned in this theater, GOP controls federal government.
Glad the Columbia community is fighting back against the DHS terror (immediate protests). Hope the administration doesnβt throw them under the bus again.

Heβs not even Trumpβs coolest VP, which is incredible because itβs hard to imagine someone less cool than Mike Pence. But Pence had an eventual limit to how much heβd debase himself, and he wasnβt quite as desperate to be accepted, the uncoolest trait there is.

The real issue is that a lot of them actually support him. Which is its own lack of principles, but of a different order.
