Seated and will remain so until this becomes a reality.

Hell yeah! Congratulations!
The first assessment of THE SLIP has arrived, and it’s a starred review from Kirkus. I won’t play it cool—this was definitely on the writer bucket list! Grateful for their kind words. THE SLIP comes out 6/3 from @simonbooks.bsky.social!

When my grandfather was told that his son was killed, he said: “I know. The whippoorwills were out singing.”
Whippoorwills’ songs are omens of loss. Their songs are also a way of remembering.
My hope is that this novel is also a song of remembering.
IF THE DEAD BELONG HERE carries the loved ones I know, but it also carries a loved one I never met: my uncle Shane Lee Faust was taken by a terrible accident when he was fifteen. My grandma was told the night of his death & my aunts were tasked with telling my grandfather the following morning.
Book cover for IF THE DEAD BELONG HERE by Carson Faust, forthcoming October 7th, 2025 from Viking Books.
Excited and honored to share the cover art for my forthcoming novel: IF THE DEAD BELONG HERE, available 10/7/2025 from @vikingbooks.bsky.social.
It features @christibelcourt.com's stunning piece entitled, “Bird Song,” which feels wholly tied to the heart of this book.
Based on what you’re looking for, I do not think you’ll be disappointed!

Thank you for the kind words and spending time with the book! One of my absolute favorites was @katehart.net’s contribution. ⚡️
It was a relief, honestly, when I let the dumpster fire burn without me in it.
I am the exact target audience for this post. Mvto! 🙏🏽
LOCA, a novel by Alejandro Heredia
Today is publication day for Alejandro Heredia’s debut novel, LOCA. He is one of the most warm-hearted writers I’ve known & you’ll find a lot of that heart in these pages. Do yourself a favor and pick it up today—and tell your libraries to get it on their shelves. We need stories like his:
Alejandro Heredia on challenging the idea that all immigrants have a great relationship to their home country through the differing viewpoints of the characters in “Loca”
