I knew palomita in Spanish was popcorn, but Iβd never thought about how it also means small pigeon or dove and now I find out it also means checkmark!?

Iβm going back for another basket weaving workshop today. Itβs addictive.
I'm working on a book project but I kind of want to just make baskets...
Basket weaving is really great! So much fun. That's the report on basket weaving.
Tomorrow I'll do basketweaving!
Lots of bikeshare stations are closed around Centro in Mexico City today, which was inconvenient for me this morning. Now I find out the closed stations are because of a Shakira concert!?
Bloordale Beach is one of the quirkiest CanCon Wikipedia pages, according to @depthsofwikipedia.bsky.social. Thanks to my mom for spotting this in Toronto Life, and for sending photos.
When I did an artist residency here in 2023, a TO artist I already knew (who lives not far from me) was also there at the same time. Weird coincidenceβI should've known when she was asking for a birdsitter on FB for the exact dates as this residency.
CDMX got so popular, thought I'd try GDL this time. But had enough of GDL, so I made it to my new temporary home in CDMX today by 2 p.m. (goodbye, GDL!) Within 3 hours I ran into a couple I know from Toronto. I've spent 3 months here across 4 trips over the past 11 yrsβnever run into anyone before!
Absolutely!!
Absolutely! I just got a phone call from the CBC about this, so it's legit.
I'm lucky to have made it across the city to my new AirBnb in a difficult-to-get, pricey Uber yesterday morning before Uber shut down, before the city shut down. Taxis and Ubers are still not running in Guadalajara. Super quiet here.
Hereβs Guadalajara right now from not a news station
Valentineβs Day and Family Day in one weekend? How nauseating!
I've swapped snowbanks and windchills for freight trains honking at every street-level crossing 24/7, a cowbell announcing the garbage truck between 6 and 7 am daily (minus Sunday), a bit of bonkers daytime crime right in front of me, nightly fireworks sounds w visuals absent, and T-shirt weather.
A question
Brunch is only a question, never an answer!
I thought this was the 83 bus stop since it used to be when I was there just 3 weeks ago. The yellow stuff makes it look like a bus stop. Google thinks itβs a bus stop. It looks like a bus stop. It is not a bus stop anymore. I only know this because the bus didnβt stop.
Let me know if thereβs anything I should know about! Weird details, little-known facts, unusual west end stuff, things everyone needs to know aboutβ¦
I embroidered a couple of local (Bloordale/Bloorcourt) characters for this show. Youβll never guess who! The show opens tomorrow.
If everyone claims their winning items from the Bad Gift Auction at the Museum of Bad Gifts, weβll have raised $370 for the Daily Bread Food Bank. $370 from bad gifts! Imagine that!
Yesterday was definitely the busiest day at the museum.
Is he finally turning on the stoplights at Dupont and future Wallace Emerson CC or just playing with the wires?
I like this post and Iβm sharing it. Thanks to Jode Roberts for this!
Last day for the Museum of Bad Gifts!
This weekend is your last chance to see the delightfully whimsical Museum Of Bad Gifts at Northern Contemporary.

Last three days! Come by! 420
Roncesvalles Ave.
I went to the Museum of Bad Gifts and all I got was this lousy T shirt/...
Great! I will be here until 3pm and itβs open until 6!
