So grateful to everybody that bought the new record today! It’s NEARLY self-sustaining to release these little runs of nicely made CDs, that’s very pleasing. I wonder about doing vinyl next? It’s a cost jump, but maybe more people would want that format? Next up: reissues of my Chicago records!

I did actually proactively think that Tragedy on its own was pretty good haha, almost pitched that too! But I think I stand by I Slaughtered A Joke, I’m keeping that one haha

My dad had a VHS recorder pretty early in the 80s, he was grabbing entire stories off of PBS in the US, they aired one all in one chunk every Sunday, he could fit three four-parters on one tape, so I grew up with mostly everything available! But I more often listened to cassettes of the TV audio!

I was 4! I remember images of Nightmare Of Eden and Meglos and the marsh lads from Full Circle, but as soon as he regenerated into Peter, it was like my brain fully switched on. I remember watching all of those the first time. Kinda scared me to death, I loved it.

“It reminds me of the quote, often attributed to Rudyard Kipling, that states ‘Informer, ya no say daddy me Snow me I go blame, I lick he boom-boom down. ‘Tective man a say, say daddy me Snow, me stab someone down the lane. I lick he boom-boom down.’ Now I’ll take any questions.”

It’s funny, but not funny haha, that she was fired solely for dropping Trump into her fraud grift. He’s like “you can shoot anybody you want and break any laws you feel like, but each man’s grift is an island, you have to clean your own embezzlement campsite” lol.

I watched the last Tom Baker season, but the moment he regenerated into Davison it made me a lifelong fan. 5 is my Doctor by age, 12 or 13 (why not both) my Doctors by choice. With 5 I find the fallibility very appealing, he’s not a superhero. 13, her enthusiasm/secret dark side, 12 is just perfect.

Ahhh, I have made another child! Took delivery of 100 copies of this glossy little CD of strange treasures, my new record Civil Temperatures is out for Bandcamp Friday this week, streaming everywhere next Friday! Check it out, this is a fun one. painkillerthepigeon.bandcamp.com/album/civil-...

I wrote the lyrics and did vocals for six songs yesterday; well, seven actually, but the seventh was bad lol, gotta come at that one again. Six is a lot, but this is a project for renovating old songs and I kept all my old notebooks, so it’s as much editing words as singing. Quite satisfying!

I’ve said this before, but at some point we will simply have to accept that society peaked with the “Bizarro” episode of Sealab 2021.

A talk shows that defined a generation of comedy and single handily launched Adult Swim/Williams Street was cobbled together by a collection of Atlanta’s weirdest sickos with stock footage from Ted Turner’s library.

We must return to the days of yore — our souls demand it.

Gotta second this, No Other Choice is A PROPER FILM, and you don’t get so many of them in a year anymore, it was absolutely wonderful

I spent the day working on these covers yesterday, I’ve always had them more or less designed and drawn in various notebooks but they’ve never been done proper. I researched the Pantone spring 2006 collection in order to get some authentic color swatches for the era lol. Pleased with these.

The cover for Painkiller The Pigeon - A Harmless Buzzing, hand drawn band name and title, black outlines with bright red centers for any letters with closed or semi-closed interior spaces. Centered drawing of a burning matchstick, slightly low-res and dotty, layers of flame contain the same bright red as well as a cartoony yellow and at the center a dustier pink. Scraggly black stick to the match, but bold. All against a pure white background.

The cover for Painkiller The Pigeon - The Quip Celebs, the band name is written down the left side, then “the” and “PIGEON” are along the bottom, all in hand drawn block letters filled in dusty orange, apart from “the” which is quite sketchy, tossed off, thin. There are three arrows pointing away from “PIGEON” towards the right edge of the image. In the center are two characters facing each other (sort of, they are abstract figures), on the left is a character seemingly woman-adjacent, in that her one leg has a high heel, we can presume there is lipstick going on, the sandy blonde hair has a curl that seems feminine at least, although the one arm protruding from her oval body area is a man’s hand in a business suit, which is reaching out and shaking or waving (based on cartoony motion lines). She has one eye with a red center. She is reaching towards a floating heart shaped balloon with a dangling string, maybe she’s trying to get it or maybe she threw it. Above the balloon is a glowing pink square with handwritten album title “the Quip Celebs”, dots around this plus a glowing color make it seem almost like a marquee. Across from the more feminine character is a more masculine character, this boy has a kind of lavender mask on over his face, which has a built in green mustache, his body is a twist of white and pistachio colors which have dots along them making it seem like a button up shirt, he has one leg, wearing the same business suit as the girl’s arm, and a fun green sneaker. The arrows off of “PIGEON” do seem to make him appear to be retreating rapidly from the girl one. All of this on a light blue background pulled directly from Pantone’s 2006 spring collection lol.

To maintain sanity, I gotta have a project. As mentioned on CBB-FM, my current one is renovating the 7 unreleased Painkiller The Pigeon records, only ever given to friends & bandmates. I’ve finished up the first (from 2004-2005), came out a peach, now starting on the second (late 2006). Coming soon!

The world could be such a nice place if we allowed it. It's all so goddamn unnecessary. There's no need for any of it. It's so beautiful here. It should be so cool to be alive

I really like how you write about music (I hadn’t heard any of these yet, so even from a year ago they’re new to me!), I’d be overjoyed if you were interested in checking out my records. I have a new one out next week, happy to send you things!

So like we really do have to impeach this entire administration with a certain amount of quickness before they kill everyone on earth to cover up the president’s prominent role in a global sex trafficking network.

Out next week for Bandcamp Friday: Civil Temperatures, an entire album I made by accident while creating Blame It On My Zodiac, this is a much looser and more fun mirror version. Lots of covers, two bonus tracks, and two brand new remixes!
