What I've learned:
Archangels and archangels are NOT the same thing. Small "a" archs are the lower ranks that are like the mailmen of heaven. Big "A" Archs is a title that Seraphim have, so like Michael, Gabriel, Uriel, Raphael are Seraphims, they just have the "Arch" status.
