NEW: I was one of 3 reporters granted access to the convening of 600+ clergy in Minneapolis this week.
It was a striking show of solidarity with MN clergy resisting ICE, but heralded something else: the emergence of a vast, faith-based network trained to resist ICE. religionnews.com/2026/01/23/i...

Sobering
Iβm sorry. You can all be mad at journalists for this or whatever. And maybe in some cases itβs deserved. But this is a high-risk profession thatβs dying. Thereβs little support for most working journalists who still have jobs.
When you blame βthe media,β blame executives. Not workers.
A coalition of news organizations said in a court filing that video exhibits from a Jan. 6 riot case had "disappeared" from a government platform that provided access to evidence used in court.
Devastating for WorldRelief, ChurchWorldService, @hias-refugees.bsky.social, @catholicrelief.bsky.social, EpiscopalMigrationMinistries, who have a 90-day commitment 2 pay rent + supplies. They scramble to support 4K+ people. And then lay off staff.

Columnist Mark Silk says we may witness an interfaith protest movement the likes of which we havenβt seen since the Civil Rights era.
This resolution was sponsored by state Rep. Heather Scott of North Idaho, who the local GOP calls the βMarjorie Taylor Greene of Idaho.β
The Idaho Family Policy Center testified in support, a group whose leader self-IDs as a Christian nationalist.

every day in the news industry for the next four years is giong to be like an episode of "ER" with an A-plot, a B-plot and a C-plot all at different stages of resolution
Last thing: For a variety of reasons, counter-protests against Trump's rally on Jan 6 were discouraged.
But exactly *one* group staged an in-person counter-protest in DC anyway.
It wasn't a leftist org. It wasn't Antifa.
It was a group of clergy, standing alone. religionnews.com/2021/01/06/a...
