i even made takedown animations for him i just realized he would be entirely less fun to play than fennel in nearly every way. i could think of no way to make him necessary that wouldnt involve taking away fennels capabilities and giving them to him

i dont mean to bloviate or praise myself but i think i made a character in fennel that lots of queer folks really attached to, and therefore when fennel doesnt represent them precisely it can come across as betrayal. but like come on. fennel is not Straight lmao
