ICE officers who enter your medical facility are allowed to visually inspect anything that’s “in plain sight” but they cannot move anything in plain sight to get to things underneath. Be ready to cover up PHI if they enter your healthcare facility. Protect your patients!

Homeland Security is entering medical facilities with firearms, wearing kevlar. Know your rights and protect your patients! You do not have to comply with officers or give out PHI unless they have a judicial warrant, which is unlikely. They usually carry administrative warrants!

I run a small nonprofit community clinic with a Spanish name. Today, the Department of Homeland Security attempted to enter my clinic under suspicious pretenses. Remember that they cannot enter without a JUDICIAL warrant! An administrative warrant is not enough!
