This was cruel. 🥲
This was cruel. 🥲
They can't *all* be about your story when they're all about *mine*. 🤪
I definitely didn't go back to my story to make sure I didn't fall into this. 😆
"I DON'T NEED YOU TO FUCKING REWRITE WHAT I'VE JUST WRITTEN!"
Congratulations, Ben!! 🥳🥳
A fantastic story!!
So glad to have seen it go all the way to finals! I had my fingers crossed for more, but at least you get to pitch it elsewhere 😁
Thanks Mizuki!! ❤️
Even the Final Showdown was further than I expected for this ambitious 250 word story!
I got past the first (64) bracket and finished in the 32s.
I know 3 of the 4 semi finalists from different writing groups and all the stories were amazing.
This was a tough Battle, amazing work everyone!
The antiprompts have been fun, but I've also loved them for exploring *why* the "rules" are there. It's been really instructive when you work back the way.
I'm keen to see where you go next. 😁

I'm tentatively looking forward to what comes next. I did my first NQW only in October last year and I feel my time with the antiprompts has been far too short.
I can't wait to see what you have planned not only for its last hurrah, but whatever comes next!
Thank you! ☺️
About 12h to go until the @writingbattle.bsky.social results are out!
I'm stoked to finally reach the Final Showdown for the first time.
This is my 10th Battle!
Good luck all!
Let's goooo!
Is this as bad as the time Brandon Sanderson had a typo where the female lead was "trying so hard not to ccream?" 😂
Two of my betas said they had to look up words I used and I know how I feel about the landing...
Go ahead and Yes this one? 😉
@beingcam.bsky.social crane-kicked this out of the park! Absolutely on fire! 🔥
Oh no! 😭
I can only imagine this happens at last minute edits....
"Their neck craned..." Hmm, too passive and overly awkward, "They peeked..." Much more direct, conveys intent. I'm sure this is better.
😭
Definitely not me anyway. I used it twice. Perhaps thrice.
My condolences to 129916!
It wouldn't be authentic otherwise!
Now that doesn't seem fair; we don't get to emotionally recover... I don't think you should get the chance either!
Johnson up!
I did wonder about this comment!
I had a kiss, a song, a ring and, arguably, a gift too; and wondered if any were mine. 😆
Wow, Deano! Thanks! I appreciate that!
(Still waiting on my name living up to expectations 😂)
Definitely feeling the sting of missing this LL, @notquitewrite.com
Do you sell the voodoo dolls, or is this a DIY affair?
I feel you, Holly.
All this suffering... When will @notquitewrite.com be brave enough to make "Johnson" the prompt word? 🍆🧐
I haven't watched it. I've basically avoided all the "live action" remakes of amazing originals.
There's nothing wrong with the original cartoons 😭
Amazing!!
Well done! I can't wait to hear the next big good news! ❤️
We need 5 more attendees to make this viable, so please jump on board.

Ooh, also the one about "voice" and "sealed lips" that you mentioned was your first "yes" (and if it survived to the long list)
Is this the kind of warning I want wine or an empty stomach for? 😅
I'm in a house with 3 sick kids and the my wife's been their latest victim; if I survive this I'm certain I can stomach the stories. 😂
(or I'll have a good excuse, at least)
