Thank you Sarah. I actually planned to watch out for some details on the ground because of the most and the cloudy sky, but then some light made it to the mountains, and I found myself trying to capture it with the long lens 🙂

Thank you! It was indeed very special, and interestingly also a quite local phenomenon - it was only in a small area close to the lake, obviously only there everything came together.

Small frozen pond with reed around it, in the background trees - all covered in very thick hoarfrost.

For this week's #sharemondays2026 I post a photo taken with my mobile on my way to work last week. It was like cycling through a fairytale woods - almost never seen so thick #hoarfrost. The next day I brought my camera with me, but the "peak" was gone.

I know it's a shame but I have never been to the UK 😮 Nevertheless my clear plan is to spend my first real photography journey there (once it comes 😋). I am amazed by the UK landscape photography community (something very different from Germany) - and the many amazing places shown by all of you.

Chaotic woodland in winter. Most branches and ground are covered by snow. Two larger trees stand out, their dark nicely formed branches being emphasized by the snow on them.

Two trees that stood out from a small (pretty chaotic) woodland. I liked how the branches were emphasized by the snow and tried to carve them out with a long lense.

While scene reminded me of photographs from polar regions, it was right here at Lake Constance, Bavaria, Germany 😉 . Have never seen something like this - it's the result of several days with really freezing temperatures.
