If Max Landis is involved I know I won't be watching this. Gross.

Dinner and A Movie 2026 - Women's Edition A New and Exciting Subcategory of Five Things, So Lit

I am exiting the socials, except for Substack. The news cycle is doing my head in. I spent Sunday in a fugue of anxiety and apprehension. Perhaps it was sleep deprivation, but I need to focus on my partner and all that is good in the world. Sayonara xx nadine3892.substack.com/p/dinner-and...

I regret my comment. antipathy is not helpful, no matter my concerns,. I lashed out of fear of your country making good on threats to Canada but this has no purpose in this discussion. Keep fighting tyranny . And I will address my concerns about imperialism elsewhere.

Lol, yes, but my comment stemmed from a conversation with my husband that if you guys invade our country our only chance to survive is our ability to withstand a harsh climate. Who am I kidding, you would vanquish us within an hour. We are screwed You don’t realize how scary 51st state is to us

I am sorry Rachel, that is awful that people are being left outside to die. My antipathy was unwarranted. Canadians genuinely fear invasion by the U.S. and my stupid remark was prompted out of fear of this existential threat but no excuse for my idiocy. I admire those of you fighting tyranny

You are right, Linda I genuinely apologize. I made a horrible and thoughtless remark without recognizing context. I did not see the rest of your thread. anxieties got the better of me. I’m appalled and sickened by the cruelty and violence. So sorry that I acted like a dumb jerk.

I don’t in any way condone what is happening to protesters. It’s horrific. I am sorry I was obtuse about these atrocities. It’s just we Canadians are a bit touchy since roughly half your population threatened to make us the 51st state. We feel the existential threat.

Um, yeah but in parts of Canada it is much colder in winter than Minnesota. we do not become immobilized. We cannot. We have to go to work and fulfil responsibilities in -40, in blizzard conditions . It is demoralizing and certainly not easy, living in cold climes.

Isiah Whitlock Jr. Dies: β€˜The Wire’ Actor & Frequent Spike Lee Collaborator Was 71 Actor Isiah Whitlock Jr., known for his roles in The Wire, Veep, Your Honor and The Residence and a number of Spike Lee movies, passed away Dec. 30.

Just recently, he was very funny in THE RESIDENCE, one of my favorite shows of the year. Plus THE WIRE, obviously, plus a *lot* of trips to the Law & Order universe, and on and on. A fabulous, versatile presence.

The only American movies I’ll gladly watch are those of the studio era. Better writing, better filmmaking, and characters you can actually root for. #ClassicMovies #HumphreyBogart

Hated P.T. Anderson’s One Battle After Another. Tired of American tropes of nihilistic, eroticized violence. why is this movie lauded? Stylistically terrible with a blaring, obtrusive soundtrack and poor editing. A mediocre mess. #OneBattleAfterAnother
