Youβre sending nudes for money, Snark? You shouldnβt do that. π
Having a lot of fun experimenting with cattle panels & double layers of greenhouse plastic.
Bees have a hard time surviving Maine winters, and the Kiddo just let βem die off this year. Weβll start fresh come spring. Been an early, colder, and harder than usual winter here. Loving my garden experiments, tho!
Who is thisβ¦do I know you?
Just kiddingβ¦no idea whatβs happening for you, Snarkβ¦Iβll check river if I see all main posts
And saw your reply from today to an old post of mine, wondering why youβre blocked, but saw it and replied there, too.
I see you. Might be some bsky update glitch.
Blocked from what? I see this msg.
Heh, though I don't think I have as many thread readers here as we had on Post. It's such a different kind of place.
Thanks, brother.
Yes, and we have a lot of orgs and civic minded folks stepping up in big ways in support and in protest. I read recently that Maine has more protest actions and community action for its size than most any other state.
Thanks, Carolannie. There's a sense of helplessness that prevades when ICE comes to town, they are so lawless.
We walk and drive and live in a sense of expecting the unexpected, taking different routes than normal. Should we stop and document? Are we in danger ourselves? How can we help?
I like Huntsville. Been through there several times and stayed with friends in and out of my way through Memphis. It's all so very concerning, isn't it.
care of the Kiddo!"
I want people to fight. America *needs* people to fight. To fight against injustice. To fight against authoritarianism.
Be peaceful, though speak out at every chance. Protect your neighbors & protect your community.
This is a defining moment in America. Please do your part.
point person there. She's tiny, but brave. I don't want her to have to be brave.
Don't think this is not coming to you.
It disheartens me that Americans are not rising up more against this crap. That they carry on as normal, pretending this will pass.
I don't want "Be safe, take ...
Kiddo works. They will eventually come in. To eat, to take a worker, or following someone in.
She's the boss there. I can't protect her, help her deal with it, & it's killing me.
We've planned what the staff needs to know, to do, whether they can refuse entrance or service, or allow. She's...
My head's about to explode.
ICE is in our area in a big way, taking people with no warning. Mothers, civil servants, teen students, seven on one at a time, zooming off into the distance, leaving horror and heartbreak in their wake.
We watch daily as they drive and abduct near where the ...
AOC: I want everybody to understand that the cuts to your health care are whatβs paying for this. You get screwed over to pay a bunch of thugs in the street that are shooting mothers in the face.
Can't go wrong with Qi Gong > Tai Chi type movements for centering and calm.
Like practitioners say β don't worry, don't overthink how you do it, and enjoy your practice.
It becomes part of one's movement in daily tasks. I catch myself all the time, that I'm conscious of moving around my center.
Beans are the best! Especially if you grow your own dry beans.
Amazing protein per gram, extremely versatile in recipe, and very easy to grow, store well, and save seed for growing year after year.
I'm on a red beans & ham & rice kind of kick lately, sort of New Orleans/Cajun-spiced style.
I agree, Muff...the character limit and having to post long stuff elsewhere and point to it in links is stultifying. It's a very different sense of community for me. Not as immediate or connecting for all involved.
Hey hey, Miss Catherine! A lot of Post folk are here, 'tis true, tho the immediacy and repartee of long post format and response is missed greatly.
Anne! How do ya like it? When Charlynn told me how good @ranchogordo.bsky.social beans are & of waitlist, I signed up. Tho when I was accepted it was pandemic, times were tough, I couldn't afford, so sadly had to pass.
We're growing our own dry beans on #themicrofarm now, tho I'd still love 'em.
It's difficult to explain, isn't it, Lynn, to those who did not experience it firsthand.
For me it was the freedom of long post storytelling with embedded imagery and ref links, very much magazine article like, and immediate to one's audience, not clicks away and back.
It fostered creativity.
Hey Carolannie β oh I have local suppliers for dry beans like Fedco Seeds, & have Vermont Cranberry and Tiger Eye beans ready to start, though @ranchogordo.bsky.social has such an amazing and wide variety. I have no fear of their beans not being fresh. It's why they get sold out.

I'm envious as all getout, Kris, though dang girl, 5200?
I know what that's like and still have untold multi-thousands to go through from long adventures around North America, especially the borderlands.
Belize sounds magical with the mix of language, especially Creole, long a fascination for me.
I wish Charlynn from Post were here to discuss and share this with. She turned me on years ago to Rancho Gordo, their amazing heirloom bean varieties, and their long waitlist.
I miss Post every day.
Hard to find peace these days, though when I do, it's always outside or with the Kiddo, and best when both happen together.
Beautiful image, Jean. Having a long view like that from home itself is peaceful and healing.
Very cool, Krista. I could study this kind of thing all afternoon.
You two know about this already?

Appreciate this!
I've long been a fan of Mexican artists from mid 19th-mid 20th century, especially Posada and those who claim him as influence, like Orozco, Siqueiros, and Rivera.
Looking into Dr. Atl's work and history will be interesting. He has a number of lovely works.
