A photograph, in burnt-orange colour tones, of a maple leaf with a heart-shaped hole forms the background of a square image. 19 book covers are arranged in a pyramid shape down the right-hand side and across the bottom. To the left, white text in an arc says "Hidden Gems!" Below that more white text reads: "19 books by Canadian authors you may never have heard of (but will totally wonder how your bookshelves lived without!)"
At the top of the pyramid of covers, to the right, it provides the date of the promo: March 1st to 15th, only on Itchi.io.
The books involved are as follows, from the top of the pyramid and then down, from left to right:
The Lion
The Erstwhile Tyler Kyle
The Dragon Next Door
River of Crows
Hope is the Thing with Feathers
The Clockwork Empire
Flesh and Bone
Goblin Girl
Moonshadow's Guardian
Your Blood and Bones
Winner Takes All
The Flaws of Gravity
Scrap Metal Angel
Destined to be Normal
Clipped
Bloody Spade
Baker Thief
Have you ever wondered whether Canadians write books?
Well, THEY DO!
And you can find 19 examples here and also you can get them all for $19!

Today's world building question!
What does agriculture look like in your world? What is the main food crop produced in different regions of the world? Is it scarce for some reason? What are the practices/politics around the production of agriculture?

#WritersCoffeeClub 5/3: How do you make sure you donβt leave plot holes?
Reverse outline after the first draft is done. Did that with Cavern Clipper, helped a ton.

Make My Genre Punk
Steampunk, cyberpunk, solarpunk, what's with all these punk genres? Author and editor Alli Martin will explain what makes a genre "punk" and how to navigate and write various punk subgenres. . Event s...
I'm just going to argue that if you're writing a modern scifi story w/o sourdough bakes, you're doing something wrong π€£π
But yes, your recommendation of adding Food Punk to the -Punk subgenres has been noted. π

He hesitated, tapped the button. The ship lurched.
She smirked. βNow counter the spin with starboard. Itβs a delicate dance, donβt overcook it.β
She watched the spin through the viewport, catching a glimpse of Hull as their spin took them past it. She nudged Bens hands from the controls, taking over. Quickly Tartarus righted and the Thalassa sat in the middle of the viewport. She glanced at Ben, βSorry. You were getting there.β
βItβs hard work Cap. Space physics suck.β
She laughed, glanced at Caul. βAnything from home?β
The other woman shook her head. βIt is like trying to wade through a flood. It keeps pinging Thalassa. Look at this shit, sixty, eighty, one hundred andβ¦thirteen times. In a second!β
βHmm. Maybe itβs trying to stop us calling out?β She looked up at the speaker, though she knew she didnβt have to. βRec, what's going on? We can see her out there. Sheβs dead.β
Teaching Ben to fly the ship, while sneaking a reference to better material. Heavy lifting scene π

The strip of land between the sidewalk and the street is most commonly called the verge.
Tree lawn - Common in parts of the Midwest (like Ohio).
Parking strip - Western U.S.
Hellstrip - Informal term (especially among gardeners).
Boulevard - Used in parts of the U.S. and Canada.
Devil strip - Northeast Ohio
Parkway - Some U.S. cities (confusing, since that can also mean a road).
If you're putting garbage bins out, most people just say: "Put the bins on the curb."

it took the richest man in the world to side with this idiot to get to where we are right now. They literally bought everybody off so that they could get the position that they have. Thereβs a lot of ass kissing going on. They are removing anybody thatβs resisting or disagrees with their regime.
