Space physics suck.” She laughed, glanced at Caul. “Anything from home?” The other woman shook her head. “It is like trying to wade through a flood. It keeps pinging Thalassa. Look at this shit, sixty, eighty, one hundred and…thirteen times. In a second!” “Hmm. Maybe it’s trying to stop us calling out?” She looked up at the speaker, though she knew she didn’t have to. “Rec, what's going on? We can see her out there. She’s dead.”

The strip of land between the sidewalk and the street is most commonly called the verge. Tree lawn - Common in parts of the Midwest (like Ohio). Parking strip - Western U.S. Hellstrip - Informal term (especially among gardeners). Boulevard - Used in parts of the U.S. and Canada. Devil strip - Northeast Ohio Parkway - Some U.S. cities (confusing, since that can also mean a road). If you're putting garbage bins out, most people just say: "Put the bins on the curb."
