Nothing beats a day at Wrigley Field! ⚾️🍿 The energy, the history, the sound of the crowd—it’s Chicago at its best. Grateful to cheer on the Cubs yesterday!

Democrats, let’s get back to fixing the basics and fighting for the universal access to the American Dream.
As I travel and listen to voters, it’s clear to me that the Democratic Party is perceived as weak, woke, and wrong-headed. Voters are focused on everyday challenges from buying a home, health care, and retirement security to their kids’ education. They’re laser-focused on their family’s bottom line.
The American Dream is unaffordable and inaccessible, and that is unacceptable. In the past, you could strive to achieve a middle-class life, but today it’s a struggle. Our children are at a 30-year low in reading and math scores, and no one in Washington has noticed.
While members of Congress will get greater protection, millions of Americans will be at risk of losing health care, leaving them unprotected. Washington is betting the American people won’t care come November, a risky bet.
Congress found additional resources to enhance their own personal security (a worthy expenditure) but cannot find resources for the American public’s health care security.
Mr. President, as a fellow American, lead us in reigniting those common virtues. More pulpit, less bully, please.
Each of us has a responsibility to act with the civic and moral code that comes with our citizenship, and no one gets a pass. In the past, Presidents have led the nation by strengthening the threads that bind Americans.
Our city and our children were blessed because Sister Rosemary and Misericordia called Chicago home. She took the call of caring for those who were less fortunate and made it her life's mission. Her direct counsel and guidance made me a better public servant. She will be missed greatly.
To be frank, it's getting very old, trite, and far too frequent to say there's no space for violence after every violent political act. If we want to be honest with ourselves, we will need to have a hard conversation with some difficult questions at the core about why, why now, and why these people.
Amy and I want to share our deep condolences to the parents, the families, and the friends of Sarah Lynn Milgrim and Yaron Lischinsky, who lost their lives in the nation's capital last evening.
On Amy Walter's podcast last week, I shared my thoughts on what Democrats need to do to restore faith in the American dream and start winning elections again. Listen here: podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast/r...
As President Biden often reminds us, his father would say, "When you get knocked down, you get back up." Joe, we know you'll get back up and back to work on the cancer moonshot. Amy and I are rooting for you.
Harvard, Columbia, Cornell, Northwestern, Brown. Notice Trump has not said a word about Yale, the alma mater of JD Vance, Secretary of Treasury Bessent and Trump donor Stephen Schwarzman. Are we fighting antisemitism or is this political retribution? yaledailynews.com/blog/2024/08...
Trump's tariffs represent the largest tax increase in memory. Years from now, historians will see this moment as the most glaring example of a president squandering America’s geostrategic advantages and our chance to alter the US-China competition in our favor. www.washingtonpost.com/opinions/202...
The bathroom and the locker room are less important than the classroom.

Real talk. We got ourselves into a cultural cul-de-sac.
We weren’t good on kitchen table issues or the family room. The only place we did well in the house was the bathroom. That’s the smallest room in the house.

A picture is worth a thousand words. What could possibly go wrong? Steady as she goes 😱
What’s next: announcing that Japan is sending us cherry trees? As we used to say at the U.S. Embassy, Kanpai!
Is it Groundhog Day for Secretary of Defense Hegseth, or a good idea has a thousand fathers? You pick, but this tough-on-China move was delivered by the Biden Administration while Pete Hegseth was sitting on the sofa at Fox. www.cnn.com/2024/07/27/a...
Spring break is almost over. Heck of a job, Vancey, posing in a parka on a frozen island. Meanwhile back here in America the Trump Administration has broken Social Security, leaving seniors out in the cold and IRS checks frozen. They care more about Greenland than Grandma.
