maybe it's just where I live but there is no way in hell 92% of my fellow canadians are morally good. Most of the rural areas around me openly supported straight up white nationalism and murdering our nonwhite neighbors during the last federal election.
I bought a home a little more than a century old and while it needs some work here and there I fully expect someone to be able to live in it in another hundred years, but those three million dollar new builds will be nothing but piles of rotting dry wall.
That's the thing even getting stupidly expensive doesn't come with actual quality. I was house hunting last year and multi million dollar properties were still build with abject shit material.

Art is the best avenue to explore the taboo and grotesque because no one gets hurt. Be uncomfortable, be disgusted, be horrified. Just don't start a moral panic over something that at the end of the day causes no real harm.

Swimming is fun and beats just dying of heat at home, nothing scary in the water at depths you could swim to. Properly groomed sand is fine, though a most of the natural beaches I've been to have been a bit coarse to be comfortable to walk on barefoot.
