A comic panel from Watchmen, showing a partially muscled skeleton (Dr Manhattan) screaming in pain in front of two horrified security guards. Text reads: “November 14th: a partially muscled skeleton stands by the perimeter fence and screams for thirty seconds before vanishing…”
Happy partially muscled skeleton screaming before vanishing day to all those who celebrate.

From the doommetal community on Reddit: Stealing a pedal from Fu Manchu after the NYC show
Posted by svdfvnk - 293 votes and 43 comments
This is low, really freaking low. It takes a huge amount of effort to dial in a tone and knowing the types of pedals Fu Manchu use, it may be irreplaceable. So a hearty get fucked goes out to this guy.

A bit of Killing Joke - Absolute Dissent this morning. Seems appropriate.

On a much smaller scale this has been happening in my local area for years. We had a thriving original music scene. It's very much a covers scene now. No one seemingly wants original material or at least to pay for it.

They’re among the best in British indie. So why have Field Music become a Doors cover band?
Faced with ‘catastrophic financial doom’ in a difficult industry, the Sunderland outfit explain why imitating Jim Morrison is their way to survive
selling three-quarters of the records we used to sell, twice the amount of promo, and finding it doubly hard to sell the same number of tickets for a gig – those are the things which turn our tiny margin of sustainability into catastrophic financial doom.

Cobalt - Gin
YouTube video by Djim Tailly
Damnit. Erik Wunder, co founder and musician of Cobalt has died.
Gin is up there as one of my favourite albums. Sad times.

This Band With a Million Monthly Spotify Listeners Now Confirms It's Using AI
The Velvet Sundown's owners have now confirmed it's an AI-generated band. A new disclaimer on the band's Spotify says the project is an 'artistic provocation.'
Haven't posted for a while, but this needs to be shared.
www.pcmag.com/news/this-ba...
If this is in fact an "artists provocation" then I'd expect the owners to come clean and admit who they are and remove it from Spotify. Until then it's just a cash grab.
Fuck creative AI

Trying to de-Amazon a bit. Trialing Deezer and so far so good.
For the record I'd never go to Spotify. Way too many reasons to avoid.

On this masterpiece this morning. Beautiful bassy smooth tone. Garcia's vocals are front and centre.
Classic audio trip.

Spotify and streaming in general has relegated thousands of bands to music making being nothing more than an expensive hobby.

Spotify says that streaming has made the world ‘value music’
It’s yet again loudly announcing about how much it’s paid into the industry.

Does it hell!
I believe it's massively devalued it.
New music is more difficult than ever to find and what would have been an exceptional album never gets "discovered" due to the bias of the algorithms towards big acts.
