“He made us like him.” So incredibly painful to hear those words.
“He made us like him.” So incredibly painful to hear those words.
There is no two sides
There’s occupier & occupied
Genocide enforcer & genocide victims
Only one side is mass starving refugees in concentration camps
Only one side is enforcing apartheid & blockade
Only one side is demolishing homes & torturing prisoners
That side is Israel

It’s time to turn up the heat on the occupation regime and take apartheid off the menu!”

In a historic first, Columbia has suspended nearly 80 students for participating in a teach-in honoring Basel al-Araj. The announcement comes just ahead of the University's deal with the Trump administration and the Anti-Defamation League.
As part of these efforts on "combating antisemitism," Columbia announced a policy of refusing to meet with some of its own students — a coalition of pro-Palestinian students, known as Columbia University Apartheid Divest (CUAD) — who advocate for Columbia to divest from Israel's genocide.
THREAD: Columbia University continues to bend the knee to Trump, announcing Tuesday it would further repress pro-Palestinian student activism by adopting the distorted IHRA definition of antisemitism and partnering with the ADL, a widely discredited Israel lobby group.
Don't let Zionists word police you in this moment. There's nothing wrong with "Death to the IDF", "Globalize the Intifada," or "From the river to the sea, Palestine will be free."
They are all liberation slogans. And no one needs liberation more than a people facing genocide
THIS WHOLE THREAD about Gaza fundraisers
Please, PLEASE read this thread by Lexi. It's important, and she is very clear on the stakes and the importance of being there for Palestinians in Gaza.
Jews in New Jersey are speaking out against the antisemitism-generator IHRA — pushed by apartheid activists in the NJ Assembly this week to change the very meaning of antisemitism in order to criminalize opposition to genocide:
“Save Gaza before everyone dies,” says Dr. Atef al-Ghoul, Director of Nasser Medical Complex in Khan Younis. “Eight billion people in the world cannot deliver a piece of bread to the hungry in Gaza.”

Quote on a peach-colored background: '“If you want to be an intellectual, you have to be a battling intellectual. The battling intellectual is the revolutionary intellectual.” — Bassel al-Araj'. Image of protesting students in two rows (one standing, one sitting) with locked arms and wearing N95 masks and keffiyehs.
Graphic with image, text reads: "Our students are battling intellectuals. They are contesting intellectual strongholds on colonialism. We will not abandon them or Gaza." Image shows protesting students and a white sheet on which people have written in green ink "Thank you students for... Columbia, thank you!" Thank you students for your columbia. Thank you!'"
Basel al-Araj once said, “If you want to be an intellectual, you have to be an engaged intellectual.” Columbia students are now being punished for living that commitment. We must support them and their right to dissent! Write a letter and demand Columbia end its repression on student voices!
Graphic titled 'SAME PLAYBOOK' with text: 'The many faces of the Zionist entity are coordinated in their strategy to suppress our movement, distracting the U.S. with repression while kidnapping Palestinian students in the West Bank.' Image of soldiers kidnapping a student at the bottom.
This is a blatant escalation of repression targeting the Palestine solidarity movement on campus—and a dangerous precedent for all student and community organizers. From NYC, to LA, to Palestine: the attack on student voices must end.
Poster with text: 'The targeting of popular universities across the country is an attempt to stifle the truth and control the people.' Below, large text reads: 'COLLECTIVE KNOWLEDGE = COLLECTIVE POWER' with an image of protesting students and a handmade sign that reads 'BASEL AL ARAJ POPULAR'
On May 7th, students at Columbia launched the Basel al-Araj Popular University (a teach-in inside Butler Library to honor Palestinian revolutionary & intellectual Basel al-Araj). Columbia is now trying to suspend or expel over 70 students, violating its own rules and bypassing faculty oversight.
Protest graphic with bold text on a peach-colored background: 'COLUMBIA CRIMINALIZES EDUCATION' at the top, and 'DROP THE CHARGES!' Image at the bottom of NYPD arresting a student.
Text on a peach-colored background: "Columbia wants to expel 15 people and suspend dozens more. WHY? For creating the Basel al-Araj Popular University, a community teaching space in Columbia's largest library renamed after the revolutionary Palestinian intellectual and martyr."
🚨URGENT SUPPORT NEEDED FOR COLUMBIA STUDENTS FACING SANCTIONS🚨

In the face of genocide and global inaction, the Tribunal recognizes that the challenge of justice falls to people, to legitimate resistance, to acts of solidarity, to civil society, to social movements, and to people of conscience everywhere.

Happy Eid to all who celebrate! I was invited to a Eid get together in my neighborhood with other likeminded Muslims and I’m super geeked. I’ve been looking for this sort of community ❤️
For me the most important histories in the world are those of Haiti & Palestine. If you understand them, you understand it all.

The Israeli army has killed over 100 Palestinians at the U.S.-run aid distribution centers in Gaza in under two weeks. By now, it follows a predictable script, either denying the massacre or claiming soldiers fired on “suspicious” individuals.
