It was incredible hearing this piece performed out loud in person. I will never forget it.

A Message from Neil 1-26-26 Folks, I would love to get back to writing about Music for you all. Our country is in turmoil. If you watch FOX, try another channel for your news for just one day. Untruths are abounding on FOX. New York Times used to be where I went for news. Now I go to 'The Guardian'. I suggest you give it a try. Forget the news "shows" on Media. They are all about posers and good looks. Remember "News Programs"? where it was not all about posing. America needs some truth. Not media obsessed with satisfying everybody. CNN? Trash mostly. Look deeper. There is real coverage. Go to independent journalism. Get some relief from white washed 'news shows'. Love Earth, Be well, Neil
I love Neil Young for a host of reasons but this is pretty cool

I’m excited to share I have a work of short fiction published in @kwelijournal.bsky.social. The story is excerpted from my novel set in mid-2000s Shanghai. I’m so honored the story found a home in a journal whose contributions the community I admire so much.

Dear
@kirstengillibrand.bsky.social your silence as ICE attacks democracy is deafening. As a NY woman I’m ashamed.
Amazing piece by @mimiwong.bsky.social in @kwelijournal.bsky.social : Encounter on the Bund

“Be kind, be involved, believe in your art,” he said. “At a time when people tell you art is not important, that is always the prelude to fascism. When they tell you it doesn’t matter, when they tell you a fucking app can do art you say, if it’s that important, why the fuck do they want it so bad? The answer is because they think they can debase everything that makes us a little better, a little more human. And that, in my book, and in my life, includes monsters.”
Love this from Guillermo del Toro

Opening scene of CHILDREN OF MEN (2006), with a chyron indicating it's 16th November 2027
We are officially less than two years away from the events of CHILDREN OF MEN
Matters seem to be right on schedule
Frame from the 2006 movie "Children of Men." Under gray city skies, illegal immigrants are held in open-air cages while riot police hold off protesters.
Rewatching "Children of Men" for the 1st time in almost 20 years and OMG, the opening lines.
"Day 1,000 of the Siege of Seattle. The Muslim community demands an end to the Army's occupation of mosques...the deportation of illegal immigrants will continue."
The movie takes place in 2027.
