It's great when science turns public perception on its head. Here, Bonnethead sharks assimilated seagrass in a remarkable finding, a short but remarkable study with broad implications!

Experimental evidence of pollination in marine flowers by invertebrate fauna - Nature Communications Marine plants reproduce by hydrophilly, that is, the movement of pollen by water. Here, the authors show that invertebrates can also carry pollen from male to female Thalassia testudinum plants.

Invertebrates were found to cross-pollinate marine flowering plants in similar way as 🐝's do on land. Marine pollinators at scale would be amazing.

Still hope for coral reefs. Using 28-years of data in Seychelles, we find reefs recovering 4-5 years faster from the 2016 bleaching event, than they did after 1998. Also, a reef that had regime-shifted to macroalgae for over 15 years, is recovering to coral.
