Easy key points, 32=0, 10 = 50, 16 = 61, 20 = 68, 28 = 82, 35 = 95, 40 = 104, linearly extrapolate the rest

I don't know why it's so complicated to see that the procedure, not the parameter, introduces the probability. It's either in or is't in. But that being said, its not clear to me that the statement "theres a 95% chance its in the CI" isn't describing the uncertainty from the procedure.

The degree difficulty varies across locations or even just crags within a location can also be quite dramatic. Be careful moving from gym to outdoors and finding out a 5.7 is really a 5.10d or something.

I find this counter intuitive. Any problem set i ever had or have given has asked about the direction of bias, and attenuation bias is the one most often invoked for conservative inference.

Where results no longer are significant I think. Sounds like partial identification to me, kinda like Honest pre-trends sensitivity test

@beenwrekt.bsky.social seems relevant for your pre p value nutrition series.

I still imagine the SCC should be much higher, but for lots of other reasons.

I don't really get the identifying variation, or generally how their estimated impacts on lagged weather effects (their central mechanism) don't line up with what climate models show.

An anti-facist open letter from 23 retired Harvard Business School professors

Anti-fascism should have broad support across the American political spectrum. Elections need to be defended. Here's an open letter from retired professors at HBS in which we call for business leaders to address that need.

Shared e-scooter services and road safety: Evidence from six European countries We estimate the causal effect of shared e-scooter services on traffic accidents by exploiting the variation in the availability of e-scooter services …

I should have plugged my paper where we found e-scooter roll-outs led to an 8% increase in accidents. Talk about a plausibly large estimate! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

@davidzipper.bsky.social Do you know what did cause an 8% increase in traffic accidents upon release with a more plausible mechanism? E-scooters! www.sciencedirect.com/science/arti...

Managing listening to a new album is the same amount of effort as managing listening to any other playlist on Spotify. "At the same time, while managing music in the car is an activity drivers perceive as less risky in surveys..." Is all they argue for the mechanism in the intro.

26.02.2026 20:21 👍 0 🔁 0 💬 1 📌 0

Hey we can still have causality without correlation

26.02.2026 14:54 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0

Maybe im old fashioned, but i just have my car stream the music, which requires no more screen time than listening to the radio.
