Well, that was certainly the blandest, most room temperature of pseudo-objections. The United States won't get better until power is wrested from Trump's hands, but it also won't get better until it is wrested from yours.
The Mulroney line is not exactly faring well in its subsequent generations.
Numbers are not their strong suit. Neither are words. Nor knowledge in general.
y'know, I'm starting to think that maybe these high-end hockey players are Dumb Guys
Roko's Basilisk is just Pascal's Wager for techbros.
Two panel comic. Panel 1: a museum display of a megalodon jaw fossil, with some museum goers standing around it. There is a graphic on the information tablet next to the fossil, depicting the approximation of the megalodonβs full size compared to a human. Panel 2: β3.6 million years ago:β we see the true megalodon as it existed, a small shark with ludicrously large, juicy lips.
Today's slime mould,Trichia crateriformis, which has opened up its top to release its spores (by a process known as circumsessile dehiscence!)
Why can't these kids learn to subsist on non-nutritive gruel and paint chips??? Won't someone think of the housing market??? π
Random Fact
phreaking was the act of hacking the old tone-based phone network.
E.G. If you played a 2600 Hz tone into a phone receiver it would βinstructβ the phone network that the-next-call-is-long-distance-and-free.
The Capβn Crunch Boβsun whistle βfamouslyβ generates a 2600 Hz tone.
Two panel comic. Panel 1: a sunfish in a dress is in front of a bedroom mirror on a dresses. She says to another sunfish out of frame, βplease donβt tell me you forgot our date night.β Panel 2: the other sunfish stares at her blankly with a gigantic chunk missing from its head.
Well, I'm in Canada, and unfortunately the CBC has a tendency to false balance it and sane-wash it. I listen to World Report every morning, and this is the first time I have heard them be this frank. And our other major outlets are usually worse.
Just had a really good counter-example from CBC today, Ian.

It is so refreshing but unfortunately startling to have a mainstream source in our media landscape refrain from cranking the false balance knob up to 11 and try to avoid acknowledging just how unhinged the words coming from the US President have been. Wow. 3/3
And they proceed to characterize his grievances as unclear and not lining up with facts. And they characterized Trump's claims that trade negotiations with China will lead to hockey being outlawed as "bizarre". 2/3
I heard a very unusual thing on CBC World Report this morning. They didn't sane-wash Trump. Their Washington correspondent actually accurately characterized the post with his threats about the Gordie Howe Bridge as "hundreds of words, often meandering and unfocused". 1/3
Wait until they gripe about "their" tax dollars being spent on the services that a big city provides, then tell them to move to Gibbons.
Thinking back to two years ago when the other half and I started looking at homes and the only townhouse options available anywhere near the core were in Blatchford.
So many of these folks really just need to move to Gibbons.
Definitely needs to move to Gibbons.
And that their neighborhood is well below its population of 50 years ago, and has no shortage of houses that arenβt really worth saving.
Gibbons.
Brad should move to Gibbons.
She should move to Gibbons.
Paul needs to move to Gibbons.
I just want to keep telling them, βHave you considered moving to Gibbons?β over and over for the rest of their lives.
Absolute dog-brained take. Or COVID-brained. Imagine thinking itβs βextreme measuresβ to not want illness to wreck your one chance to compete. Or that itβs not still vigorously COVID times.
But boy oh boy, if athletes take even a minimal precaution, thatβs βextremeβ.
The one time I got it, fully vaccinated, it knocked me down for a duration equivalent to the Winter Olympics. And I was still putting myself back together for months. And a year later I was noticing I donβt recover from physical exertion as quickly as before it.
You all just decided everyone is supposed get it over and over and wreck their lungs, hearts, immune systems and brains so you can pretend everything is βback to normalβ.
