Well, that was certainly the blandest, most room temperature of pseudo-objections. The United States won't get better until power is wrested from Trump's hands, but it also won't get better until it is wrested from yours.

The Mulroney line is not exactly faring well in its subsequent generations.

Numbers are not their strong suit. Neither are words. Nor knowledge in general.

Two panel comic. Panel 1: a museum display of a megalodon jaw fossil, with some museum goers standing around it. There is a graphic on the information tablet next to the fossil, depicting the approximation of the megalodon’s full size compared to a human. Panel 2: β€œ3.6 million years ago:” we see the true megalodon as it existed, a small shark with ludicrously large, juicy lips.

Today's slime mould,Trichia crateriformis, which has opened up its top to release its spores (by a process known as circumsessile dehiscence!)

Random Fact

phreaking was the act of hacking the old tone-based phone network.

E.G. If you played a 2600 Hz tone into a phone receiver it would β€œinstruct” the phone network that the-next-call-is-long-distance-and-free.

The Cap’n Crunch Bo’sun whistle β€œfamously” generates a 2600 Hz tone.

Well, I'm in Canada, and unfortunately the CBC has a tendency to false balance it and sane-wash it. I listen to World Report every morning, and this is the first time I have heard them be this frank. And our other major outlets are usually worse.

Just had a really good counter-example from CBC today, Ian.

It is so refreshing but unfortunately startling to have a mainstream source in our media landscape refrain from cranking the false balance knob up to 11 and try to avoid acknowledging just how unhinged the words coming from the US President have been. Wow. 3/3

And they proceed to characterize his grievances as unclear and not lining up with facts. And they characterized Trump's claims that trade negotiations with China will lead to hockey being outlawed as "bizarre". 2/3

I heard a very unusual thing on CBC World Report this morning. They didn't sane-wash Trump. Their Washington correspondent actually accurately characterized the post with his threats about the Gordie Howe Bridge as "hundreds of words, often meandering and unfocused". 1/3

Wait until they gripe about "their" tax dollars being spent on the services that a big city provides, then tell them to move to Gibbons.

Thinking back to two years ago when the other half and I started looking at homes and the only townhouse options available anywhere near the core were in Blatchford.

Absolute dog-brained take. Or COVID-brained. Imagine thinking it’s β€œextreme measures” to not want illness to wreck your one chance to compete. Or that it’s not still vigorously COVID times.

The one time I got it, fully vaccinated, it knocked me down for a duration equivalent to the Winter Olympics. And I was still putting myself back together for months. And a year later I was noticing I don’t recover from physical exertion as quickly as before it.
