I haven’t made any lace projects for a while, but this was my first foray into knitting Japanese patterns, and it somehow feels just right for #showmeyourknits lace week! It’s now almost 15 years old, but I love it just as much now. 🧶

And to make sure the multicoloured contrast doesn’t have any of the main colour yarn! I’ve seen so many projects where the colours become muddied.

Thank you 🙂 I knew the colours would work together but the colour changes are short unlike Spincycle yarn used in many of the other projects. The trick is to avoid using a multicoloured yarn that contains any of the same colours as the main colour, they can become muddied and you lose definition.

Another orange lover, I’m drawn to orange all year round!

The double YOs just make the k5tog much easier, when you get to them. You think it’s going to be too loose but it works really well.

I finished it more than a year ago but I only have a photo of the yoke. So I must remedy this! But in the meantime, this is mine, I used a merino/possum blend.
Here’s a hot tip from me. Work double YOs for the grains, it makes it so much easier!
