While I am not religious myself I had a very religious upbringing. After our parents died when we were placed in a foster home in Cincinnati my sister Sarah made me to temple every Friday and Saturday. She insisted it was what mom and dad would have wanted.
I have always been drawn to Vulcans long before I married one. There is something about their culture I find similar to my upbringing. Their Vulcan salute is very reminiscent of Jewish blessings I first observed as a child at temple
