Apparently the thing I really need to keep my eye on is called "avascular necrosis," which is the "death of bone tissue due to a lack of blood supply." Sounds peachy!

One of the funniest things about breaking a hip at 26-years-old is being made aware of the inevitability of a hip replacement -- which could be necessary in anywhere from a few months to a few decades lol (depends on how my femoral neck responds to the titanium screws/plates holding it together)!
