When I started the business lots of people joked I would change my tune about Capitalism. Instead, I just found a whole new list of reasons to hate capitalists, who are nearly all short-sighted cowards unwilling to invest in anything that is not immediately profitable.

By saying white and not wealthy you are explicitly saying that their race os the determining factor and not their wealth. This puts the blame on all white people, where it does nota belong, instead of on wealthy people, where it does belong.
Class is what matters most in America.

Change that "W" to wealthy and you'd have something. Working class white folks don't deserve to be constantly blamed for the actions of billionaires and their puppets.

Another weird modern media thing I've been thinking about is, like, why DIDN'T the web open up better discourse? Why didn't a vast forum, with ready access to information produce more truth? Lots of reasons, I suppose, but I think part of what's going on is actually fairly pre-Internet.

Reminder that the Lorax took the same approach of speaking out and bearing witness that Democrats are taking and it didn't work out so well. Resistance must be active or it's meaningless.

California is in a salmon extinction crisis. Three years of closed fisheries, weak water protections, and delays on Tribal water rights have pushed salmonβand the communities that depend on themβto the brink. Itβs time to act on science, Tribal leadership, and real water solutions. #savecasalmon

I am sorry, I haven't been on Bluesky much. The frogs are good! the pond has now dried out and all the tadpoles have turned into frogs and gone hopping away into the woods. Smaller batch than on wetter years, but still several hundred happy little new froggos. :)

Well, the big thing I couldn't reconcile is how people in that fictional future had avoided the collapse of civilization from climate change long enough to let the other dystopian elements fully develop.
Don't know that I'll ever finish it.

If you call yourself a leader, now is the time to lead and use your voice to speak up for your friends, neighbors, colleagues, and employees who are being silenced and erased.

#BlackHistory is American history, and the people erasing it from government websites in a modern equivalent of book burning are on the wrong side of history.
Someday everyone will have been against what is happening in America right now. But in the meantime, the silence is deafening.

A nation that cannot acknowledge such crimes can never atone for them.
Sally Hemming's history is every bit as important as Thomas Jefferson's to understanding what America is and what it means - and making sense of our current moment in history and how we got here.

US schools have long taught that Thomas Jefferson was a hero, a visionary, and a champion of human liberty. And they did that while erasing Sally Hemmings, whom he enslaved, raped, and impregnated.
