Frosty paddle in the core of Kitchener, Ontario. Just a 300 m portage to the LRT stop. Not that I would enter the LRT with a canoe!
I’ve been designing and building paddles. I’ve downsized each time and have ended on one that is 7.8oz which is less than 4 large eggs. Soon I test and it might fall apart—which would still be a fun pushing of the envelope.

20 gauge vinyl. One of the coolest parts is seeing the water, actually flow over the surfaces at the front of the canoe.

I decided not to exclude this cedar knot from my canoe paddle blade.
It was once the foundation of a branch that reached out to support the growth of the entire tree. It helped the rest of the wood grow strong.
