Both moderate- and high-intensity training were associated with brains that appeared 1–2 years younger than those of non-exercising individuals. By combining brain clock models with functional neuroimaging, we further show that these effects are global across the brain, rather than confined to specific regions, as often suggested in previous exercise–neuroimaging studies.
Two of my passions converge in a new publication.
Using data from a longitudinal clinical trial at the @ismcopenhagen.bsky.social, we show that resistance training can slow brain aging in older adults.
