These are capes? Are there going to be capes this year?

Photo shows the cover of a book named 'Arts for health: Singing'
A little light reading on the train #Booksky
I've also put my water bottles and lids, favourite cup and water filter in some bleach water.
Been out to pick up some boots from the cobbler, buy some new tweezers because who knows where mine are? (I'll probably find them now) pick up a mothers day present and card.
Now to relax π
Batch cooking done:
β’Breakfast burritos
β’Chilli
β’Tuna and lentil salad
Bought some tofu to try in a stir fry.
There was a 'just threw the sweet potato in the shopping bag' issue that I didn't notice until I got home.
Do. Not. Touch. It.
Finally, Friday and bonus my train home doesn't travel a rowing couple whose argument keeps dying down then starting up again out of nowhere. I went and stood up at the doors after the first 3 rounds.
The council have fenced off a part of a field near my parents for dogs to be off their lead.
Took the chihuahua and the yorkie, can't let the chihuahua off the lead as she can easily get through and under the fence.
Thought I could trust the yorkie to be good, nope, under the fence and off he went π
I've been undecided about new job, the days will be longer but it gives me a day off in the week plus my weekends. That's 3 slow mornings, and I do love a slow morning.
It would also give me the experience of the role I do want that I'm not getting now. But longer days with a chronic illness π¬
Batch cooking done:
β’Breakfast burritos
β’Lemon Pork, barley and vegetables
β’Mexican chicken soup (i think she called it?)
β’green lentil, beetroot, squash, and hallomi salad (halloumi not cooked until the day of eating)
Because I go to work in the dark and come home in the dark, I've not paid much attention to the hanging baskets. My plan was to add new soil and plants next month.
But it looks like they are happily doing their own thing for now. No idea what any of this is, there's been so much added over time.
Amazing
Cinema time.
Laptop is refusing to play ball and connect to the Internet so I can study.
Everything else is connected and working.
Guess I'm finding something else to do
Orange promo poster about scoliosis care and the Schroth Method. Top text: βIntroducing the Schroth Method for scoliosis careβ. Top-left logo reads: βEDS Awarenessβ and βEhlers-Danlos Syndromesβ. I'm very short and my little step didn't get me anywhere near where I could easily do this.
Cleaned best I could with a foot on the bath and the other foot on the sink. Hard to work above your own head.
First photo a dust clumped extractor fan. Absolutely caked in dust
Same fan after cleaning, not spotless but better than photo 1.
Little Sunday morning job that could have waited. Bathroom fan is not very good at dehumidifying. Had a quick look and saw the first photo. I don't think anyone has ever cleaned this. Cue a very awkward job of trying to clean. Hoover no use, had to try and take a toothbrush to it. Best I can do.
Got a whole medium chicken on the whoops in lidl for Β£2.12. It's currently upside down in the slow cooker with some carrots and leek.
Batch cooking for the week:
Breakfast burritos
Butter chicken
Leek and mustard pork
Spiced baked feta & bean ragu
Did u know? I read this week that we shouldn't approach gardening as *gardening*, we should consider it as habitat restoration. Nature desperately needs us to bring back meadows, ponds, wildflowers & shelters for small souls that underpin the world we're lucky to call home. Go, restore. πΏπ±π¬π§π±ππͺ²π¦ππͺ°π¦ββ¬π¦π¦πΈ
Colleague: Oh, there isn't much work to do here, thankfully.
Me: Yeah, some mug has been working on it all week to reduce it π
Also interviewed for a new job today, a promotion (my career goal for 2026) they emailed me this afternoon to say job is mine depending on references and checks π
Having not prepped rice and no packet of microwave rice in. I've raided the fridge for lunch tomorrow.
I have half a portion of bacon, lentil & cabbage gratin and half a portion of chicken with lentils, kale and sundried tomatoes.
Thrown these together in a tub. That will do π
31.88 out of 45 on my systems thinking end of module test. You had to get at least 22.50 to pass.
I definitely fluked some of those answers.
Me beginning of Feb:
I won't buy the multipack of tempered glass screen protectors because I'll just be more careful with my phone, and this one should last a while.
Today: drops phone on the marble floor,l when trying to get my lunch out, and I need a new screen protector π€¦ββοΈ
I'm trying to figure out why I'm so tired these last 2 weeks.
Checked through the small courses I've been doing 4 nights a week and why I thought I needed to cram them into the first 2/3 months is beyond me?
I've gone in and adjusted them to next month and April/May. Give my brain a break.
Plugged the phone in to charge last night, didn't switch plug on. Phone died, no alarm, missed my train, late for work.
Happy Monday!
Thank god the neighbour was home. Poor dog is traumatised, he's only a little yorkie but he got them on the back of the leg and that distracted them enough for my mum to push them to the floor and get to her phone.
An addict entered my parents' home last night and tried to attack my mum while she was alone. This earned them a bite from the dog and a very bloody beating from a neighbour.
Police have, of course, done nothing. Not even visited her yet, someone was supposed to come round today but hasn't.
Sunday after a busy Saturday. Time to visit the family and then an early night for me.
