Book's out!
Book's out!
Is the coast clear?
Heartened by the voters in Wisconsin yesterday, who said "nope, we're not being bought, Elon." And bless @booker.senate.gov for his heroic action on the Senate floor and snuffing ol' Strom Thurmond's record in the process. Thank you, Senator Booker, for the waterfall of courage and hope.
And what fresh Hell today?
Please like this post if you're as tired of "winning" as I am.

Started reading Onyx Storm last night. ๐ฑ
Guess we have to take what we can get.
Looking forward to the SNL hoop-la tonight. What a line-up!
Apparently so. When will he ask this of the military?
Glad to see the FAA has closed helicopter routes near DCA indefinitely. Now they need to lower the volume on flights into that airport.
Long overdue. Now they need to reduce flight volume at DCA.
The three biggest exports from Colombia to the U.S. are crude oil, coffee and cut flowers. Tea and a walk, anyone? In springtime we'll even have garden daffodils and tulips to enjoy.
I totally adore her writing.
I was thinking exactly that this morning.
Today I keep thinking about the example set and courage shown yesterday by the Episcopal Bishop of Washington, Mariann Edgar Budde, in her homily during the National Prayer Service at Washington Cathedral. May she inspire all of us in resisting injustice and showing compassion for the vulnerable.
I keep thinking about Aretha Franklin's hat on Inauguration Day 2009, as opposed to, you know, that one yesterday.
Thank you. As an aside, Prince wore the hat better.
You weren't expecting that?
Not turning the tv on today. It's hard enough knowing that after a four year break it's back to waking up every morning wondering "what fresh hell today?" Link arms with campadres, keep chin up, help where you can.
Way to go, Commanders! You earned that!
This football game is wild!
It's the wind. Can't give Inaugural address wearing a MAGA hat and can't have what's left of the combover blowing around.
Inauguration on Monday moved indoors to Capitol Rotunda. Expected weather: sunshine, 25 degrees, wind 15 mph. Hmm. Somebody doesn't like cold and really, really doesn't like wind.
Good for Michelle Obama for saying "nope" to attending the swearing-in. She's walking the walk. Nancy Pelosi, too.
Just learned of the second family I know that lost their home in the L.A. fires. So heartbreaking. Help where you can, donate what you can. Red Cross L.A., World Central Kitchen, so many other places to send support.
Really. Help where you can.
Thank you Tim Kaine. You're making this Virginian more grateful than ever for your service.
"Zero percent contained."
Harrowing words about the Los Angeles fires as this heartbreaking situation unfolds.
Yes. I would add one word: finish. There's a long distance between writing things and finishing something (however bad the draft may be). Keep writing. Finish. I wish I'd understood the power and necessity of finishing a draft sooner than I did.
I finally gave up on blocking them, too. I just don't follow back and ignore unless it's clearly an active account. I just hope bsky figures out a way to get this hosed down at some point.
