A piece I did for Paperback 10th Anniversary Edition by designer Tim Fowers.
I got big into Frank Frazetta in art school and started reading a lot of pulp sci fi/fantasy authors like R.E. Howard as a result. The definitive Conan the Barbarian is always Frazetta's to me.

For all the cards I've worked on they aim for precise actor likeness from the particular source media. Like both Alden Ehrenreich and Harrison Ford depictions of Han Solo for example. so they must go pretty hard for likeness rights!

Gradually the Toriyama inspired car doodles in my Uglybook sketchbook have turned into drawings of elaborate car crashes and general destruction. It's research. ๐ค๐ฅ๐ฆ
I don't know why either but I'm in the same category! The appeal is inescapable. Maybe it's the childhood influence out Micro Machines and fine scale model magazines? ๐ค
