Love is love, and gender doesn't need to be this rigid thing that people have to choose between only two boxes. Just let people discover who they are and what they want to be.

Parents who can't fathom the idea that their kid might learn something new about themselves are selfish because they don't want to share the world with those who challenge their old-fashioned/traditional views that are rooted in discrimination

Like it's not just about the potential self-discovery, but also about learning to have empathy and compassion for those in those communities.

It wasn't until I got into media that had LGBTQ+ content that something clicked for me in my head of "Oh! There are people in the world who see themselves like this, and who they love and or identify themselves as is who they are, and I want to respect and support that!"

Admittedly, as a kid, I wasn't the most open-minded person like I am now so there was a time in my life where stuff about the LGBTQ community made me uncomfortable - but that came from a place of ignorance and just the overall moody/edgy phase that came from being an early teen.

Kids aren't stupid, and it drives me crazy when parents feel the need to constantly shield them from certain topics completely rather than educating them in ways that at least introduce them to the topic. Kids are curious and that makes them want to learn!

The whole Pixar thing of "we removed gay stuff from our film because we don't want to be responsible for millions of dollars of therapy that kids will need" is so fucking stupid and out of touch

Like I promise you, as someone who's straight, it doesn't have to be this overblown discussion
