Wow. Beautiful.
Wow. Beautiful.
Time for morning chores and dog walks to go dark again.
Grey skies over snow covered pasture. Two Border Collie dogs explore the snow.

Heavy ground fog from the snow. It seems the latest iPhone iOS version camera will no longer allow me to capture such things. Temp of 34Β°F / 1Β°C
I lack the words to capture it, but ... it's just endlessly remarkable to me that so many people in our society have chosen trans kis -- TRANS KIDS, the smallest, least significant, most vulnerable demographic slice you could possibly pick -- as a repository for all their fears & insecurities.

Rain last night followed by a freeze gave us slippery conditions this morning. Temp of 32Β°F / 0Β°C
There have been stressful interactions at work recently and I needed this reminder. Breathe and remember I can only control myself.
Because sometimes, people might come into a clinic defensive, scared, upset, or emotional. The best part of the person isnβt gonna come out the first day. But if I do my part and help them along, I get an opportunity to see the best part of the person as time goes by."

The last time I was around Tom, he said, 'Donβt treat them like they are. Treat them the way youβd like them to be.' At the time, I didnβt know whether he was talking about horses or people. Later, I realized that he was talking about both. I remind myself of that from time to time.

"Tom Dorrance once said, 'You can learn anything with these three words β observe, remember, and compare.' He said that beyond that, learn to adjust to fit the situation. That always meant so much to me.

Another bit of thawing yesterday and freeze overnight let us walk on top of the pasture this morning. I have a hearty laugh in surprise every time I suddenly sink into the snow. Temp of 32Β°F / 0Β°C
Get the book or Read along here:
Images from the Book "How Much is a Million" illustrating a Billion. They would stand up past the moon If you sat down to count from one to one billion You would be counting for 95 years.
Image from How Much is a Million. Children in a hot air balloon over a stadium sized body of water with the words: If you found a goldfish bowl large enough to hold a billion goldfish It would be as big as a stadium
The US is spending $1 Billion a day on the war in Iran.
I read the book How Much is a Million by David M. Schwarz, with Pictures by Steven Kellogg, to my children years ago to help them understand large numbers.

Maybe our representatives in Congress should read it.

Too cloudy for Lunar Eclipse viewing at my farm. We are on the east side of the Hill, so likely would not have seen much anyway. Temp of 16Β°F / -9Β°C.

Dear March, Come in -
How glad I am -
I hoped for you before -
Put down your Hat-
You must have walked -
How out of breath you are.

I see. Since revealing a person's heart and respiration rate does not seem to be much of a security violation, I am guessing the concern is she is wearing a device that is masquerading as a Whoop and has other capabilities.
Enjoy a song to welcome March.
"Afloat, adrift
A flight, a wing
A hawk, a quail
The promise of spring
And the riverbank talks
Of the waters of March
It's the promise of life
It's the joy in your heart"
Moody grey clouds moving covering over one last bit of sun. Snow covered pasture surrounded by bare trees with a snow topped red barn in the distance. A black and white Border Collie dog stands on top of the snow facing the photographer.

Yesterday we enjoyed sun and high of 50Β°F / 10Β°C which then froze with this morning's 30Β°F / -1Β°C. Dogs and I trekked to the back pasture (mostly) on top of the snow. Once there I proceeded to sink to my knees. Glimpsed a last hint of sun. Now it is snowing.
I can never recommend ignoring the news but maybe read this first as.ft.com/r/d2b6ae74-d...
From the photos it looks like she is wearing a Whoop. Hard to tell for sure. Whoop is a fitness tracker not a smart watch. This would explain why she wears a watch and tracker.
I think about this Tony Benn speech much more than I used to
Picture of Marjane Satrapi alongside a quote from her. The quote reads: The world is not divided into countries. The world is not divided between East and West. You are American, I am Iranian, we don't know each other, but we talk together and we understand each other perfectly. The difference between you and your government is much bigger than the difference between you and me. And the difference between me and my government is much bigger than the difference between me and you. And our governments are very much the same... - Marjane Satrapi, Iranian-French graphic novelist
Thinking about this quote from Persepolis creator Marjane Satrapi again.
Painting that looks like a comic book panel showing a fighter pilot in a cockpit shooting down a plane, with text: That was their mistake - because it gave me more targets than I could shoot at" and "No. 4! One more to make ace!"
This is probably either a really good or really bad time to point out that this classic Roy Lichtenstein Pop art painting from 1962, showing a fighter pilot shooting down a military jet, is in the collection of the Tehran Museum of Contemporary Art www.lichtensteincatalogue.org/catalogue/en...
