well ive been into katydids since i was like 6 but somehow it doesn't offend me even tho im overall prone to gatekeeping

this guy was under every post about "green buge", writing "katydid" in caps, seems he couldn't take it anymore, this is probably how it feels when a hyper niche interests gains traction

Finally got some photos of Australia’s “blue ant”, Diamma bicolor, which is not an ant at all but a shockingly large metallic blue thynnid wasp, wingless and solitary, that hunts mole crickets. Been meaning to shoot this thing for years.

You're currently looking at fungus (specifically Gibellula alata) emerging from a spider. Right now, there are only six observations of this species on iNaturalist!
