Alexander Butterfield, the Nixon aide who disclosed Watergate tapes, dies at 99 The White House aide who revealed that Richard Nixon had secretly recorded his conversations as president has died. Alexander Butterfield was 99.

The man who refused to lie under oath and which resulted in the evidence needed to take down the Nixon administration. RIP and thanks for showing the rest of us that a sworn oath to tell the truth means just that. The rule of law matters.

Most Americans would rather have their tax dollars go to veterans' earned benefits than have them fund a war with Iran they never wanted. There's a long list of Trump priorities that taxpayer money shouldn't go to.But our country should pay for increasing veteran disability & indemnity compensation.

Young men age 18-26 still have to sign up for the Selective Service System. Failure to do so can result in fines and imprisonment. And yes, if you have transitioned to a male then you have to sign up as well. So they already have a list of eligible persons for the draft.

It's not just US military commanders who are outraged. The grunts from previous wars are just as outraged.

He served honorably in the US Navy from 1959-1963. He understood the complexities of Vietnam. He was a strong supporter of the Vietnam vets, working to get memorials established and worked for various veteran organizations. He never stopped singing about the war.

Hatred, ignorance, fear, greed, and discrimination are viruses, magnified by suffering, carried in buckets, spilled onto the world.

We cannot eliminate them by actions that magnify hatred, ignorance, fear, greed, discrimination and suffering - only by actions that relieve them.

Narvik posed nicely for his #Caturday portrait. I like the way this one came out.

Watching the paralympics is cool apart from the regular messaging that anyone can do anything if they just try, that disability shouldn’t stop you doing things, that a positive mental attitude will overcome physical disabilities…..

Families don't want to replace their loved ones, but when they find love after loss, the system treats them like they have. With the passage of the Love Lives On Act, widows like Anita could finally remarry without the burden of having to choose between financial security and finding love again.

War isn't a fucking video game. We will bury six of our own, and who knows how many other people due to nothing more than chest pounding War Pigs. This is completely degrading to our servicemembers. And make sure to fully fund the VA for those returning this new fresh hell.

Obama: "We are living in a time where it can be hard to hope. Each day we wake up to some new assault on our democratic institutions. Another setback to the idea of the rule of law ... but this man - Rev. Jesse Jackson - inspires us to take a harder path ... bc if we don't step up, nobody else will"

I am frankly more concerned about the apathy of the American public and even more importantly the lack of leadership in the Democratic Party.

This is not a dress rehearsal. Every single American must speak out against this Facist administration.
