5 days until a meaningless game where starters might at most play a couple of innings. So excited!!! #LGM #mets

Agreed, was saying 2nd half 2024 was at 100+. Always hard to predict that much over 162, but mid 90s is fair. Upper 90s def possible. 100+ if all goes right.
Might be homer glasses, but I'm taking the over there by a lot. This team (very little lost, +Soto and improved BP) crushed the 2nd half, 100+ pace. I get why odds makers have them where they are, baseball a fickle beast, but this team is better than scraping by in wild card race.
True about SRF ๐๐. Still, they'd need a mop up man, and I'd rather not use Butto or Nunez in those situations. So if not Canning, who?
Mid definitely looks lighter than I'd like, but I do love our top. And if Nunez can recapture the magic... It's not half bad. Hopefully our rotation doesn't burn them all out by May again :(
1 year deal, so zero risk. No matter what the $$$ value is, I like it! Much needed depth piece for the BP.
Do we think he's now done with the BP, or more to come?
Lol, love that he misses the webbing, and then shook out his hand, because you know that stung the palm.
Very conflicted. I am excited for Mets in 70 days. But also mortified for what those potato kids are about to hear at story time.
For the record, I look at them as completely different, for all the reasons others stated in reply, and think we should absolutely sign him FOR THE RIGHT PRICE. None of this resetting the market, Price Fielder Jr. BS...
If you're drawing parallels, then us NOT signing Conforto ended up a WIN as it would have been a waste and we'd STILL be paying. So if that was a fail, and the circumstances are soooo similar, then Mets should repeat history and stay away, right?
If not, then I'd say you're missing the differences
Too true. This season was soooo much harder as a Jets fan than past shitty seasons due to the expectation and inexplicable let down. Follow that with the rangers blowing their positive vibes, and we are desperate for a feel good Mets season.
Ooo, that's ice cold ๐คฃ๐คฃ
Is that what we're calling it nowadays?
That's a little early for Jeff McNeil to be paying you a visit!
I think we're at least a few years away from having to worry about that.
The stuff over there is mostly complaining if it makes you feel any better. Sadly, not much to talk about ATM
First night of Chanukah. Chinese food and latkas?
Or David Stearns?
Just read that some people have started calling this Christmas Adam ๐ซ
I would have loved a true ace. This rotation would be deep if everyone has been bumped back one spot. But he picked right last year, and so he's earned the right to double down. Now let's secure 1B, DH and BP (lots and lots of BP).
Like the deal. With this buy low strategy, he needs to sink all these savings into building a crazy good bull pen. None of these guys are going past 6 IP. Needs to be lock down from there, with 4-5 reliable options so none get burned out.
Nice pre holiday gift to wake up to. Thrilled Mets didn't need to go to 4th year without increasing the AAV to much.
Much rather this deal than Severino's Oakland deal for only 2.5M less per year.
Problem is Vlad has no reason to sign an extension after watching the Soto bidding war and knowing the Yankees have "signaled their intent". Any trade would be a rental with the HOPE of resigning.
Lol, the T! :). Multiple color lines throughout the city, very useful for getting from Back Bay to Fenway :)
I can't imagine going to foreign major cities (Boston, Chicago, Paris, Rome, to name a few) and exploring while completely avoiding public transit. I'll admit NYC has given me a foundation, but my gosh, it's worth the effort... Build that foundation! It'll last for a lifetime of exploration!
Double digits!
Exactly. And if ultimately, were talking 5-6 @25M, then he's a Met. It's if someone is going to 30M or 7-8 years that I see the Mets drop out of the bidding.
ESPN. Ignoring the rest.
Read Yankees unlikely to pay for another RH power bat. It's logical. Pete's landing places aren't too many, and outside the Mets, the budgets of those teams tend to be smaller, making a one dimensional power hitting 1B a harder reach.
