I think the biggest damage to the art community was the obsolescence of gallery sites (y!, deviantart, etc) and the rise of scroll-by social media, like twitter and even tumblr. Art is not ''content'', you shouldnt need to post art every day (or every month!) to be relevant. This mindset sucks.

I used to be friends with people who used to love this kind of 'drama' and not only did it cause me serious anxiety, it also turned me into the worst person of myself because people like that will ruin you.

seriously, if you’re cis and have already made some calls to your politicians and donated money, try some light crossdressing and see if it doesn’t make you feel at least a little punk rock. putting on a skirt or suit or whatever gender-nonconforming clothes you have access to pisses off the govt.

i think kids can be very irresponsible and stupid in fandom, but a lot of adults in fandom have a massive ego and sensitivity problem, its genuinely bizarre.

Kids can be overly strict about shipping, but I've seen adults weaponize social justice language to justify stalking and harassment.
