Das Climate Service Center Germany (GERICS) wurde im Jahr 2009 von der Bundesregierung im Rahmen der „Hightech-Strategie zum Klimaschutz“ am Helmholtz-Zentrum Geesthacht (seit 31. März 2021 umbenannt in Helmholtz Zentrum hereon) gegründet.
