Didn't overthink this one and popped in the first 9 that bubbled up for me. If I had another row I might add Pokemon Red which got me through a miserable childhood hospital stay, but as a franchise isn't one I'd reach for today. #my9games

You're right and since you mentioned him, Dave, David and David too.

This on the Anno discourse. Straight into the bin with every top 30 under 30 article ever written. Your life is a mountain range. Your capacity for meaningful expression is bottomless.
Sorry to hear. It must be a super monkey's paw moment.
Sorry for the bummer of a post. I had the unique perspective of seeing the game among a crowd of Canadians and Americans, all strangers to one another, and it's thrown me off in unexpected ways.
But today I can't shake it. Seeing how the team chose to celebrate and who the next generation of hockey fans and players have to look up to. It's so so depressing and colours that moment in the theater as toxic. I feel bad for American hockey fans whose moment of national pride was debased.
I'm not a sports guy. But it stung when the final goal was scored and the other half of the theater started chanting "USA! USA!"
I had to be mindful to divorce the game result from my feelings on Canada-US relations. "There's no hostility in their chanting. They're proud of their team. That's it."
My son asked who it was.
He knew the name.
"Why did everyone do that? I thought he was the best."
I hesitated.
"Cuz of politics."
The older Canadian beside me overheard and let out a sardonic scoff.
I was on holiday yesterday and they had the CBC broadcast of the game in the resort theater which was filled with Canadian and American tourists. the camera cut to Gretzky sitting in the stands and the Canadian half of the theater let out a suppressed groan. Like an icky jump scare.
I've got the dumbest six degrees of separation with Catherine O'Hara. The Weimaraner that was in "Best in Show" was my family dog's great aunt.
This monologue is an all timer. Rest in peace, legend. youtu.be/2WkWoMcghhE?...
Five year old me: "How refreshing to have a show named after the antagonists. A breath of fresh air undermining the toy selling machine that is children's programming that demands brand worthiness. I tire of the He-Mans. The G.I. Joes. The lack of cynicism is a panacea for this jaded child."
When the venn diagram for the work needed to be done and the best person to do it a flawless circle.
I knew I felt your presence.
Yeah. I'm pretty sure I'm going to hit a wall at some point on this one. I've defied my own expectations muscling through Last Judge!
I would estimate this was 50 attempts. π
Take that. π
I feel like a parkour god on that run back Iβve practiced it so much π
Ah, I did get arrested. Prison break was super fun.
Maybe Iβll pick this up on Steam and mod it. But definitely taking a break for a while.
I donβt know what that is but Iβm betting I have to go through Sinnerβs Road to get it? π¬
I literally cannot beat this boss after two weeks. I give up. And I dunno why I feel so irrationally sad about this. A lovingly crafted, challenging game made by actual humans who care so much about every detail. This should be a slam dunk top ten for me, but I feel completely alienated by it.
Well deserved. This was such a great read, and the straight-up craftsmanship was next level.
Thanks Justin! I have never felt super confident with my photography but Iβm in my middle aged dgaf phase :p
Snowy path but most of the photo is dominated by dense woods in warm and cool greys.
Dense winter woods back lit by sun peeking through branches.
An apartment complex towering over a winter tree line.
A winter street scene. View looking up a hill with cars parked along efge. Apartment building towers at hill peak.
Things I saw today. Iβve got this old rebel T3 I donβt bust out enough. @nicodelort.bsky.social recent photos inspired me to dust it off. Would love to get more skilled behind a lens.
It's one of those movies with images that never fade from your mind. The golden armor? The red sun? It's all just so operatic and heightened.
This take is so killer. π₯
Bog standard New Yearβs resolution is to fragment into five identical versions of myself with one self each assigned to full time work, paid side gig, personal project one, personal project two, and vicarious life living slash getting fit.
There's always an exception. For me it was the mini games on the wii. Bowling and pong and all that with the wii remotes was the first time my parents ever picked up a controller, and party games with them was a good time.
