I grew up watching Bo Jackson, Marcus Allen, Tim Brown, Napoleon Kaufman, and Rich Gannon lead the Raiders to some amount of success. It's a real bummer to see Al Davis' failson turn the team into a destination that no one wants to play at unless they just feel like bilking a fool out of his money.

I feel like if you're lamenting holding [insert problematic politician] accountable for their actions and removing them from office because you feel that doing so lost [insert imaginary advantage] then you're losing the plot because the GOP stacking the deck with monsters-for-hire is how we got here

I'm curious what happens if That One Reddit Commenter that Google scrapes from for their AI then uses one of those services that scrambles all of their comments. Does Google's AI box then give people lorem ipsum nonsense because in their database That One Reddit Commenter is their source of truth?

My main concern is that this could be like the Bovino-to-Homan thing where the evil still continued, perhaps even more so, but now was not being handled by a social media-obsessed weirdo so the evil is now committed under a cloak instead of broadcast to the world where it was scrutinized 24/7.

Such a great game. Agreed on the setting and environments being so beautiful. I ended up exploring every island because of that just to see all of the cool stuff they created. The expansions get a little silly but Kassandra gets a really cool send off. Valhalla just didn't hit the same.

It's pretty incredible to witness in real time how many systems our country has that rely on decorum to operate, and then some assholes came in and said "No, I'm not following those rules" and just get away with it because they know they won't be punished.

I think there may be Moderation Lists that do this (Settings -> Moderation -> Moderation Lists), but for the life of me I have no idea how to search for them. I only know of them when I see someone make a post about one and I've added some that way.

Someone on the Dan Le Batard Show should try this for a 24 hour stream

-Greg doing it would be the funniest, but I would also be terribly worried for his health
-Chris would definitely give up a few hours in
-Tony would probably take it seriously
-Zaslow might take it seriously, too

Tony Vs. Zas?

"Lurid eroticism" is a genuinely hilarious thing to put on a movie poster to sell it to audiences.

A parody of an old USPS PSA graphic about the difficulties mailpeople have with dogs with the title "Put yourself in my shoes" but now it says below "Don't make me deliver any more letters to Silent Hill" and "Good lord I hate this place" with a graphic of a mailperson wielding a blade of some type at a monster with packages strewn about on the ground.

I don't know why I still have this saved, but perhaps it was for this very moment in time.

They'll just advertise on the internet and in mobile apps, assuming the food industry lobbyists don't just influence the decision to strike down an attempt at legislating this in the first place. This is attempting to put the toothpaste back in the bottle and is a very silly claim, Mr. Senator.

Four-panel meme: First panel says "Human sits down and watches flashing patterns on a box" and the second panel to the right of it has a picture of a sleeping Shaquille O'Neal that says "i sleep" at the bottom. Third panel says "Human brings out the loud thing they drag across the ground" and the fourth panel to the right of it has a picture of Shaquille O'Neal with bright light emanating from his eyes that says "real shit" at the bottom.

Separate medium, but I remember 13 or so years ago that the idea of someone streaming on Justin.tv/Twitch.tv with a separate camera on their face while they played games or watched videos was seen as ridiculous. Turned out that viewers really, really like that sort of presentation.

It's mind-boggling especially because of the commitment needed to run a GaaS successfully post-launch. So if you're willing the strip the studio to its studs less than a month after launch then how can you expect a GaaS to turn things around with a skeleton crew? You need a full team for the miracle

I absolutely loved Legacy, I picked up the 4K Blu-ray for it and the original Tron, but Leto's involvement in Ares was a deal-breaker for me. For what it's worth, my dad said he enjoyed it so I guess if you're not aware of Leto's scumbaggery or can memory hole it then it sounds like it's a fun movie

I'm also not a fan of Ryan editorializing that "This is an Xbox" was a "brand-killing" failure. Xbox's lack of exclusive games to sell consumers on Xbox consoles and giving them a reason why they should get one over a PS5 is far, far more damaging. There are much bigger problems than an ad campaign.

Plus that sort of decision has to go through so many different people at different levels for weeks. Even if the marketing department was "reporting directly to Sarah", you're telling me that ad campaign launched in a single month after that change? No way. That thing was approved before West left.

I thought this a decade ago when ESPN.com changed their article comments system, which was filled with trolls spewing hate, to using Facebook and how people using their real names on comments would clean it up. It didn't. People just went on attaching hate to their government name. Shame is dead.

Why does this post have the same video along with nearly the same exact text (a few words were replaced with synonyms) as Phil Lewis' post? Why was the Variety link not included?

It feels even grosser when you realize that GoFundMe takes 2.9% plus $0.30 from each donation made. They essential profit off others' misery; it's an abominable business model. There must be a better way to help others through compassion without enriching a weird shadow middleman.

A smart lamp feels like a fake commercial in a Robocop movie:
"Too many times I've walked into a room, turned on a lamp, gotten blinded by the light, and then smashed the lamp in a fit of blinded anger. But now with OpenAI's Smart Lampβ„’ my room is now always lit at a safe luminance, every time!"

I got back spasms for the first time in 2019 and actually had to miss work because I legit could not move. Worst pain I've ever felt in my life, but as far as I know I avoided any bulging discs. Godspeed on your recovery, Mr. Battaglia.
