Perhaps the hardest idea to truly understand about trade is that it is fundamentally about cooperation, not competition.
I trade goods with foreigners for the same reason I trade chores with my partner: If we reallocate tasks in just the right way, we’ll both be better off.

But its just, not a priority to Starmer (British public)
US dont have to impose tariffs on UK for it hit their GDP. They will take a hit already from the tariffs on MEX & CAN and if US impose it all they can do is hit back. So for me no relevance is more 'you cant do anything about it other than negotiate and hope'
But you can address domestic issues..
Being in Customs Union will help but UK must get their act together first. Their economy is stagnate.
Joining EU wont fix domestic budget issues.
And electorate may not like that Brexit didn't work but they wont entertain referendum again right now
People forget Cameron delayed Brexit vote for yrs until he couldn't and it took 4yrs for them to leave after.
To rejoin he'd have to convince electorate on stronger
1. immigration
2. economy
3. health
they don't have any of that now. Has to do it from position of strength
Rejoining EU is way down on KS priority. He needs to address NHS, energy & defense funding (he doesn't need EU for).
Talk of rejoining now will split the party can make him lame duck.
to 1. talk is already underway about rejoining EU Customs Union
to 2. they're already in NATO
to 3. no relevance
