Really well written. A really great dissection of religion, faith, and how gospel can be twisted to suit a means to an end in its interpretation.

If you make something popular enough eventually you will die or sell it off and and a person in thick rimmed glasses whose main artistic vision is that he loves to have meetings will take it and sandblast it until it's nothing. I hate to see this happen here but maybe it's good that this happened. Maybe every franchise should collapse into a version of itself that makes shareholders nod and shake each others' hands. We should learn to speak in a language that rich people who don't dream can't comprehend.

Finally watched Frankenstein last night and it’s still sticking with me. No one’s doing it like Guillermo. Grand, emotional, and giddily gory. I love the almost cartoonish devotion to practical effects and stunts. Jacob Elordi wowed me. What a picture!

Anyway, here’s to a better 2026. Obligatory cute kid pics incoming.

It’s the kind of thing that’s hard to speak too much about publicly. I often don’t even know what to say. But we were thrown a life preserver and we’re so grateful. It makes the struggle a little more manageable.

This is a crucial part of helping families like mine. Keeping programs like Medi-Cal and IHSS funded. It’s not a magic wand but it’s going to keep us afloat.

IHSS (In Home Support Services) will be paying my wife to act as a caregiver for my oldest son, who needs protective supervision to live safely in our house. It couldn’t have come at a better time. We have been stretched sooo thin trying to manage reduced hours and telework to help our kids.

Went through one of the hardest years of our lives so far in 2025. We landed the bird with good news though — we got approved for IHSS hours for our kids. We started this process in January! It took so long and there were many hoops to jump through but we did it.

Everyone else is making plans, fighting for their lives … but in the face of unspeakable evil Derek just says “Your mom”
