You know how we always joke about how people before the 90’s look like they’re 20 years older than they’d look now? One reason was because the air people breathed pre-epa (created in 1970) was chew-ably THICK with pollution.
Today, the Trump administration repealed the endangerment finding: the ruling that served as the basis for limits on tailpipe emissions and power plant rules. Without it, we’ll be less safe, less healthy and less able to fight climate change—all so the fossil fuel industry can make even more money.

Another good book: "Fantasy Island" by Ed Morales, which really goes deep into how Puerto Rico ended up bankrupt a decade ago and, shortly thereafter, left to languish in the second-longest blackout in world history.
This is a good moment to note that Daniel Immerwahr's "How to Hide an Empire" is fast read and does a good job of contextualizing the last 128 years of U.S. rule over Puerto Rico.

North American history is as seductive to our imagination and knowledge as Romans, Inca, Greeks, Babylonians… and so on
