Oh, bravo! That almost* makes it worth doing.
*Almost but not in the slightest come to think of it. Still very clever though, cheered me up!

Obviously this was the absolute flipping highlight.
Went for the most frustrating 10k run in Warsaw tonight, I don't know how you city folk do it. I think I spent longer stood at traffic lights than I did moving
Star spangled re-mix
And while we're on bloody lovely, the boys made a new year's resolution that they'd alternate cooking once a week for us. They're keeping it up, & they're beginning to get more adventurous. Last night 12 made us Greek burgers that involved frying off spices and grinding them in a mortar & pestle
Hoo boy. Made my coffee so strong that I'm chewing it this morning. Bloody lovely
If you need me I'll be the vibrating blue for the next 3 hrs
Are the stars like a world cup thing and they get to add one for each war crime they've managed in the last week?
My position is more that the better team will usually win, but a battling performance and a bit of luck can benefit a lesser side. Plus in these two matches the stats also lie. The balance of play was very different in the two matches too
The untold hours of hot takes on podcasts and ex pros on TV are but tears in the rain as everyone tries to find a narrative to fit the beats of butterfly wings.
This is a great explanation for why football is so popular though
17k up at Swinsty & Fewston this morning. Longest run in aaaages and boy do I know it now. Am roundly knackered
For two weeks, Iβve been looking around my house for my headphones. Itβs been annoying the shit out of me. Tonight, Iβve been for a beer with my friend, ordered an Uber and jumped in. The driver says βhello Joel, look in the glove compartmentβ. My headphones. Heβd held onto them until he saw me.
I appreciate the replies and don't disagree with this being a non trivial possibility, I just still don't see it as being a successful outcome I fear
And I don't know enough about US internal politics to deny that but that's a very narrow definition of success that is very specific, hence me calling it parochial.
With the US aggressively pissing off allies and burning through goodwill and relationships I go back to this post.
Even if in someway they can play this to a subset of US voters, that's horrendously nartow and parochial. This won't look like a success

Meaning they'll be palling up with next Iranian leader.
That leader will then be suppressing any uprisings encouraged by US and fighting the Kurds that have been armed and sent over the border.
With trust gone and further destabilisation.
But now US has demanded "unconditional surrender" and that they get to choose the next leader, whether or not they get these things they're going to end up having to pretending they have- to exit or they're defeated.
This is not a domestic affair but a global one and one it would take great diplomatic skill to avoid spiraling significantly. An administration that only knows how to bully and is isolating itself from allies is not well equipped to turn this to a success.
I just can't see how the narrative on either collapsing a state into chaos or withdrawing from an aggressive confrontation with Iran can be controlled by an administration that can't control it's own president's messaging on any topic.
Leave him alone. If they're standard issue then he should be free to wear them.
Don't even go near the Cullen Skank with your cock-a-leekie.
Thanks to @vennart666.bsky.social for introducing me to the unique moves of Luigi Primo, the pizza throwing wrestler
"This war has no clear purpose but could still end quickly and end up looking something like a success"
Saddeningly seems very parochial magical thinking
I'd also argue it's hard not to feel there's almost guaranteed blowback in-train at the moment in the form of non-conventional attacks that bombing a school and the glee over the problematic sinking of the Iris Dena haven't helped much either
By adopting a strategic "big boy did it and ran away" this can end, militarily, for America quickly if they get bored or decide to cut and run because it's all too difficult (which I suspect they will)
But there's no way this ends quickly for anyone else, whether or not the Iranian state collapses.
Treat yourself, clipping it on your belt is a game changer and feels a lot more James bond as you let it go and it just retracts out the way.
Christ, I'm so pathetically middle aged.
In the back of my mind I'm also thinking Thomas the tank engine might work

I spent longer than you'd think trying to shoehorn in something about white hart (house?) lame before I just hit the alt text
Yeah, sure, she made up the quote, but as the man himself said...
Absolutely top draw spursing
