I've cancelled every celebrity at this point. Just makes everything a lot easier.

I think we're supposed to get another 4-5" by this evening. Which makes it a reasonably big but not exceptional snowfall.

Just reading the title I assumed this was going to be one of those heartwarming β€œthe kid did a good thingβ€œ stories.

Bari’s big idea is the famous Harvard Law professor whose annual vacation tantrum on the Vineyard is treated as national news doesn’t have enough access to press.

As an official in the Justice Department's Office of Legal Counsel, I was at my desk on Sept. 11, 2001. I advised that the U.S. could wage war against al-Qaeda without blurring the distinction between crime and war. After 9/11, the U.S. declared that it would wage war for the first time against an organization, rather than a nation. But the drug cartels alone do not present
a similar challenge that rises to the level of war.

As with any new language, it's changed enormously in its first decade, and is now useable in all sorts of environments where it wasn't previously. You can write an OS in Swift today, but you really couldn't do so a year or two ago. The _next_ decade will tell us if it's going to take off broadly.

I would mostly point out that it's a _very_ young language and probably too early to make a judgement about whether or not it will take off in broader use.

Yes! Geneva is ... fine. Lausanne, Montreaux, Gruyeres, Evian all worth a day trip.

There are many childhood games that really puzzle me in hindsight, but probably the most puzzling was the simplest. When I was 10-12 or so when winter would end and we couldn't have snowball fights any longer, we would just have rock fights instead.

I think I've seen each Thor movie twice, except I've probably seen the first one three times?

Other than that, I've seen a smattering of the others, almost none of them in a single sitting. Might have seen the first Iron Man twice?

I can’t imagine watching any non-Thor Marvel movie more than once. Hard mode for any child of my generation would have to include no Tom Cruise or Arnold Schwarzenegger. πŸ˜‚
