Microscopy photo showing the hippocampus, a brain structure that plays a key role in memory and cognition, with Alzheimer's disease. Different fluorescence dyes in the image show healthy neurons (in orange), as well as neurons dying accumulated phosphorylated tau protein in different stages of cell death (cyan and purple).

I'm very happy with how this image turned out and can't even wait for #FluorescenceFriday! I'm trying to detect Tau protein phosphorylation before forming full fibrillary tangles in #Alzheimer disease. Healthy neurons: (๐ŸŸ NeuN), Dying neurons: pTau ( ๐ŸŸฃ422), (๐Ÿ”ตAT8).
