Delighted we could help! The manuscript comprises eight tables, which bring together the fundamental tools for computing conjunctions (a term encompassing planetary conjunctions and lunar and solar eclipses), one of the most complex phenomena to compute in the Middle Ages.
A new academic year & the Upper Library is finally re-opened. The exhibition this term features Merton's 'newest' medieval manuscript (MS 329) acquired this year with the generous help of @thefnl.bsky.social. Booklet of 14th-century astronomical tables! Eclipses, conjunctions and more!
The couple are debating which route to take?
Congratulations!!

The joy of the pop-up displayβgreatly enhanced by the cup of tea afterwards!
It was too cloudy to see the lunar eclipse tonight, so hereβs some fun diagrams of eclipses from a 13th century astronomical compilation, now @bodleian.ox.ac.uk MS. Arch. Selden. B. 34, f. 47v π
