I also asked him about the success of the Disaster Recovery Assistance Program first authorized by the General Assembly in 2023 to step in when federal recovery funding isn't available.

I spoke with @PEMAHQ Director Randy Padfield during the agencyβs @PAHouseApprops #PaBudget hearing about the status of possible revisions to Title 35, the code that stipulates emergency management standards for every municipality in PA.

At our #PaBudget hearing with #PADCED, I spoke with Sec. Siger about the incentives & challenges surrounding the development of the biotech industry in our region, including how company leaders look at infrastructure & public transportation when deciding where to locate a new branch or headquarters.
State @reptimbrennan.bsky.social: The Chaos and Daily Injustices ICE Is Inflicting in Our Streets Are Un-American | Inaction, quiet disapproval or indifference will not preserve who we are as a people.
A good starting point, now it's time for the legislature to get to work fine tuning the plan. Iβll be part of that process as a member of House Appropriations β our budget hearings with the leaders of each state agency, department, and commission begin at the end of February.
Gov.Β Shapiro delivered a great #PaBudget proposal focused on important areas like education, economic growth, and public safety.

Remembrance is not passive; it's a moral responsibility that compels us to grapple with what can happen when human dignity is denied & recommit ourselves to defending democracy & rejecting dehumanization. History reminds us that choosing courage over silence is key to bending the arc toward justice.
I love visiting the #PAFarmShow every year!Β I always learn something new about how agricultural grows our Commonwealth.
Iβm proud to represent this remarkable community, which continually demonstrates that we value our responsibility to one anotherβnot just during the holidays, but throughout the entire year.
...and to local nonprofit cultural institutions, so they can continue enriching our lives and drawing in visitors to Bucks County.
This funding is a reminder that even in challenging times, we can choose to invest in one another and offer care and compassion. (cont.)
In case you missed the announcement in my last e-newsletter, we got some great news right before the holiday break: Almost $5 million total in grant funding from several state agencies is coming to our municipalities, to help them maintain critical infrastructure and public services... (cont.)
In 2026 I'll be working as a lawmaker to strengthen public safety, protect and expand our social safety nets, and do the steady, often obstacle-laden work of giving every Pennsylvanian the resources they need to live a good life.
Wishing you and your loved ones a peaceful and healthy year ahead.
We saw those bonds tested at moments this past year by acts of violence that challenged our sense of safety and belonging -- yet we chose solidarity over division, and rallied around our community. This gives me hope that we're rebuilding trust in one another and in our government. (cont.)
As we welcome a new year, Iβm thinking about the fortitude of Bucks Countians: how our resilience stems from the community weβve grown together and our shared sense of responsibility to support each other through hard times. (continued)
Merry Christmas! Iβm reminded this time of year of Louisa May Alcottβs words: βChristmas is the season for kindling the fire of hospitality in the hall, the genial flame of charity in the heart.β
May this season bring peace, connection, & moments of joy to our homes & community.
I hope you take a moment to read my thoughts on the horrific gun violence that unfolded over the past weekend.
Had an excellent visit at the Sheet Metal Workers Local 19 Training Center to see their apprenticeship programs in action. We fought for state budget investments in apprenticeships because they build stable careers & the skilled workforce PA needs for our future.
My latest e-newsletter came out on Friday. Check it out for updates on what I've been working on in our district and in Harrisburg, including our effort to honor Judge R. Barry McAndrews, celebrating Solebury School's Centennial, and much more: pahouse.com/brennan/InTheNews/Correspondence/?id=141343
On World AIDS Day, I'm thinking about the lives lost & the heartbreaking stigma HIV/AIDS brought. We owe gratitude to those who undertook advocacy & research; my friends diagnosed with HIV as young adults are thriving. Still, we have room to expand access to care in PA.
I'm heartened that the new state budget includes $25 million to renew the wildly successful Solar for Schools program. This fantastic initiative led by Rep. Fiedler is saving school districts $$ *and* strengthening the grid for everyone else. youtube.com/watch?v=uDuO2FREGsw
@lgaustindavis.bsky.social's stirring speech at Bucks County NAACP's annual banquet asked us to remember that progress in the ways we deliver justice are too important to wait. Gratitude to the award recipients, and to the Bucks County NAACP for their outstanding work over the years.
As a student of law and history, I know governments are key to improving peopleβs lives. In House Appropriations, we stayed in Harrisburg long after the Senate left town to work on bipartisan budget proposals. Read my response to the ongoing impasse: pahouse.com/brennan/InTheNews/Opinion/?id=140959
(2/2) Beyond the programβs critical health benefits, grocery stores also rely on SNAP. When those impacted cut back on their food spending in November all at once, grocers and farmers will be faced with going out of business, drastically raising prices, and other tough choices.
Gov. Shapiro announced yesterday that he signed onto a lawsuit with about two dozen other governors to sue the Trump administration, demanding it uses available federal contingency funding to sustain SNAP during the federal budget impasse. (1/2)
Yesterday we remembered former state Rep. EJ Lucyk, who I was able to proudly call my friend. For more than 20 years he served our Commonwealth in the #PAHouse, making Pennsylvania a better place for all. Thank you EJ for your service and example. #RIP youtu.be/UdUCjC1v_bU
Today marks seven years since the horrific shooting at the Tree of Life synagogue in Pittsburgh β an act of antisemitic hatred that took the lives of eleven people. Remembering those who were killed and their loved ones is imperative to support the healing of their communities.
My team and I had a wonderful time observing Diwali with the Desis of Doylestown at their 5th Annual Diwali Celebration! The Desis always invites the entire community -- people of all ages, backgrounds, identities, and abilities -- to take part in this joyful festival of lights.
In my latest e-newsletter: updates on efforts to combat human trafficking, expand attainable housing, and much more from Harrisburg and home. Read it here: pahouse.com/brennan/InTheNews/Correspondence/?id=140689
