A very ruffled ragdoll kitten perches on a fluffy white cat tree bed. Her eyes are unfocused and her majestic mane is out of sorts.
When we first got our princess she had to be put down for a nap like a toddler. If there was any person or cat she could get attention from, it would keep her up. Even if she was literally falling asleep standing up. Here she is waking up from a nap.
The FUCK? Dude I'm sorry individuality and other people liking things makes you feel attacked, but that's something you take to your journal and/or therapist.
Husband's BirdNet picked up a meeping woodcock near us. So if you need me tonight I will be sitting in an empty field with a flashlight.
Tagging the only lawyer I trust, @notalawyer.bsky.social ?
IANAL, but this is where I got my understanding. Still would love official Lawyer insight.

That is true.
True, but there isn't any law saying he can't buy stocks. And since fucking with those stock values by pressuring Netflix with anti-monopoly actions is official ...
Yes but thanks to SCOTUS, he can't be prosecuted because the Netflix thing is in the purview of his official acts.
So not only can he make money from his official acts legally, but even if making that money is otherwise illegal he can't be prosecuted if there's a hint of official act.
Jesus.
Actually, in looking into this, it appears it's been this way since forever, and it wasn't the immunity SCOTUS ruling. The 1970s ethics in government act placed rules around others, but basically said the exec branch is subject to its own rules. Which don't exist.
not only do we librarians welcome preliterate patrons but we might also be willing to extend library privileges to this visitor. all we really ask is that they observe the behavior policy
Why is the president exempt from executive branch conflict of interest laws? Real question. Asking for real answers, not snark.
Always skeptical and then it all clicked into place that there was nothing saying I had to believe that.
Same. It wasn't a specific class as much as it was a rapid shedding of belief my first semester. No trauma. No specifically bad experience (except the obnoxious and hypocritical campus Christians). Just ... it didn't fit me anymore.
Some fucker read Hunger Games and clearly didn't read past the point when Prim died.
This is why camping is so awesome.
eBird also has a Sandhill sighting at Brenton Slough - hopefully the nesting pair is back!
They just showed up Friday to yell in our (disappearing) prairie pothole wetlands.
Spoiler for today's connections, but JFC @nytimes.com it's Daylight SAVING not SAVINGS.
Do I have a sinus infection? Yes.
Am I taking the long way to the pharmacy to swing by some ponds so I can maybe see some buffleheads, teals, and greater white fronted geese? Also yes.
@banditelli.org would approve.
If he's going to be horrible I wish he would just say it with his whole chest.
Nunn voted for Healthcare (after seeing how far he was slipping against STG). He is clearly bipartisan.
Her profile in another paper talked about her color coded library. That's all I needed to read.
She is a white woman using white woman power and white woman tactics. Sometimes her feels-based targets intersect with progressive issues, but that doesn't mean she's bipartisan.

At one point my kid was very into volcanos and I had the brilliant idea to show him Lava. I forgot about the middle where it looks like the volcano dies. He was heartbroken.
And for the lady, perhaps audiobooks that support indie bookstores instead of mega corporations doing questionable things.
As you can see here, right from the very first day he entered our house, Jim found great difficulty in getting settled and making the environment his own.
THREAD.
3 & 1/4 years ago, with no warning, a brilliant orange farm cat wandered over from the draughty barn where he'd been living, in rural Cornwall, & decided he wanted to live with us instead.
We decided to call him Jim.
This is the first photo I took of him, on that night: December 1st 2022
BUFFLEHEADS! Irregular duck migration is here! #BirdSky
A drawing of a unicorn looking up at a starry night sky. The caption reads, "the future can be better let's hang in there and see"
