Someone who has no clue what it's like to have aphantasia, that's who. And no clue what it's like to be an artist. Even the Old Masters had models. Folks who try to claim that one can't be an artist if they need source material to copy are ignorant ableists.
That is exactly how I did it too. I also used the value scale I learned in art class years ago.
