The hard part of freelance is networking and pitching.
Also figuring out what to charge. my feeling is that the right fee is a bit uncomfortable on the high side. You want to be surprised that they accepted that number without blinking
😂
Good luck. It’s tough out there.
Like “I know you’ve been wanting C. I’m available from Aprilbto work on it if you have a budget for it” kind of thing.
You have connections from the work you’ve done. Personal approaches to say you Are available are a good way to get freelance work. Don’t assume they’ve seen general linked in or whatever.
And sometimes You can even soft pitch a specific project.
I hope someone brings you food.
Schoolboy error. I hope it’s sunny again tomorrow where you are

If your writing is one of the things that nourishes you in tough times, you need to make time for it. Planning Q4 will help you figure out how to do that.
He did not lead with "Your grandmother if fine but I need to email your mom about something and can't find..."
He just said "I need to contact your mom"
I have reassured her. (Mom is fine. He's moved her into a different home with a bit more care because she's been falling.)
My life is very different from my brother's.
He needs to email me. He clearly forgot to get my email from Mom yesterday (when the need arose, in a call).
Did he just google and use the contact form on my website? No, he emailed my offspring and asked.
it's not too early.
Turn it on when you are not going to deal with any email that comes in after that time, even if you are still technically at your desk for an hour or so.
I wondered who’s fault it was 😢

Imagine watching what’s happening in the US and thinking « ooh, now there’s an idea. We should try that » 🤬
Do you feel like good planning is easier said than done? Actually managing to do it well is hard with everything else going on. Planning at a set time, a guided session + community of like-minded academics helps. We've got just that happening 20 March.
It's gone from the Peak District. Had 3 days in a row earlier in the week though.
No idea.
But some of this is about wanting power for power's sake.
Though I can't also help thinking that someone wanted power to do precisely what they are now doing. The fact they doubled down after last week's election is v worrying.
It got me to read the thread to check, which was a good thing.
What world are the people assuming lanyards are a high status thing living? It just means you need your id card to open doors.
Thank God for the House of Lords, standing up for the people against the elected representatives of the people.
It is one thing to claim these hideously hostile policies are "necessary", they aren't. It is something else to try and claim they are "progressive", "liberal etc. These aren't just some of the most right wing anti-asylum policies in decades, they are some of the most hostile across Europe.
Yes, yes you can. Enjoy
